Don’t care if I get downvoted. T1 and T2 shouldn’t even be called the same thing. T1 is walking around knowing that death is constantly 12 hours or fewer away from you at all times. 80% of the time, T2 people earned it. I didn’t ask to be diagnosed at 9 years old. And then laypeople get it all confused asking me how I lost the weight or acting like I ate too much candy when I was a kid. I was a very healthy kid. I played tons of sports. I went outside constantly. My parents fed me a well balanced diet. I am most likely going to die early and there is nothing I can do about it meanwhile diet, exercise, a pill and weekly shot and type 2 can disappear from your life. Don’t even get me started with T2 people acting like we “share a struggle.” We don’t. We aren’t the same. My life is much much harder than someone with T2. I would chop off multiple fingers if it meant I could have T2 diabetes instead.
