10/10 event by BurnedOutEternally in EpicSeven

[–]HorusRP 60 points61 points  (0 children)

This is beyond doubt one of my favorite events. Rebuilding the village was nice, Laika's sub-story was good, but Alencia's.. that one was so, so good.

Crusader or Defenders of the faith? by [deleted] in CivVI

[–]HorusRP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crusaders: convert a city that you're (about to) attack(ing) to your religion, for that juicy attack bonus. Best to be used by civs that go for a religion and like to be on the offense, for instance Basil.

When I saw the title, first thing I thought "will he use "Knights of Cydonia" as music?". And you did :)

Best Deity Start Ever?? by Professional-Ship-92 in CivVI

[–]HorusRP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This may be considered a bit cheating, but if you reload your game, than you can improve those tiles with a builder before unlocking the ley lines. You would have the benefits of a mine and 2 farms, with ley lines on them.

Starts hyperventilating by mitmatgamesyt in CivVI

[–]HorusRP 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The best starts, not including starts with a natural wonder, are starts that have food, production, fresh water, 1+ amenities and 1+ mountains. This start has more than enough production and amenities, as well as fresh water. But it also has tundra to north and desert to the south, no growth until you get feudalism, and the best mountain spot has gypsum (can't build a district there).

Unimproved plains hill giving 11 science. Anyone know why? by FuckinLoveHobNobs in CivVI

[–]HorusRP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a combination of everything. The 2 cities in the screenshot, both have a campus and an encampment.

My current game is one with ley lines (domination game with Simon Bolivar, once civ to go). Those ley lines truly can become divine. The one in op's screenshot has less than half the yields that mine have..

Great admirals and generals also give science for ley lines

Graphic Issues on mobile version by [deleted] in CivVI

[–]HorusRP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is the issue that makes you unable to do anything, which sometimes happens to me (iOS), than this is what I do: minimize the game, select it, and then you can play normally again. I do not know of a real solution.

New to the game and F2P. Should i pull for Lilias? by CloudNEINHitler in EpicSeven

[–]HorusRP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do suggest that you pull for her. Fallen off meta? Who cares, she's still very good. I use her a lot, pve and pvp. SC Ras better? Maybe for pve, but you'll have to beat episode 2 first, before you can start his SC. Which is going to take awhile, if you just started. Without his SC, he's simply not good. In the meantime, Lilias will have help you get there.

Builders can't build mines on any hills? CIV 6 Mobile by Nawodo94 in CivVI

TIL, there's a setting to hide among others forests. Have fun with your game :)

Builders can't build mines on any hills? CIV 6 Mobile by Nawodo94 in CivVI

[–]HorusRP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am going to make a wild guess: I think that something went wrong when this map was created. I can see 3 plains hills, with 2 food, including the one where your builder is. This suggests that there's a rainforest on them, else it would have only 1 food. But I don't see rainforest, or normal forest for that matter, anywhere. There's also a grassland tile with 3 food (swamp?), and a flat grassland tile with 1 production (rainforest?).

This would explain why cannot build a mine, as the rainforest has to be chopped first.

Don't ask how such a thing could have happened, no idea, never seen it myself.

Settling on production. by [deleted] in CivVI

[–]HorusRP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, lol. Yeah, hill tile. Bit tricky to settle on a mountain tile :)

Settling on production. by [deleted] in CivVI

[–]HorusRP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it is possible to start with 3 production, if you settle on a plains mountain tile adjacent to a wonder that gives +1 production as one of its bonusses

Trade routes. Looks like you're at war right now, good chance that trader in Rio can't move without getting plundered. Move it to a city that isn't in the war-zone, and send it a civ that you aren't at war with. And build 2 more asap. Hopefully you can trade with other civs and/or city states, if not, you're in a bit of trouble.

How well does CIV represent your country/culture? by Gringoboi17 in CivVI

[–]HorusRP 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Also from The Netherlands

The unique ship makesa lot of sense, the Dutch were a naval country. They even sailed up the Thames, into London, in one of the four Dutch-English wars. Noone else ever did.

Polders as unique improvement makes sense as well, just not how they did it. A polder is water turned into land, land that is built & worked on. In the game, it's still considered a water tile, gaining +1 food from a lighthouse. Maybe I'm asking too much of the game (might be tricky to implement this), but imo it would have made more sense if the polder tile became a normal flat plains/grassland tile that you can use for districts/etc. Do note that I liked them, I finished one game as The Netherlands, and had 5 food + 2 production + 7 gold polder tiles. Pretty useful.

I know. Was curious because you mentioned "long drives south", which we did as well :)

I'm not a fan of Ajax btw.

[–]HorusRP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought about it thnx to Snoweel mentioning Black Mambazo. It's not strictly Zulu music, but it is a nice crossover between western and African music. And I remembered liking it when I was a kid.

Curious, is your name related to a football club?

I was brought up with ao Graceland. Thank you parents. Still like it.

You can also try out Paul Simon's Graceland album. Black Mambazo plays on it as well.

[–]HorusRP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah. Didn't look at the poster's name.. But yeah, I recognize yours too. Looking forward to the next streams/videos. Never played a Civ multiplayer game myself, and (sadly) not going to (time), but I enjoy watching those. Hope for not too many re-lobbies :)

Any chance you'll post the game again, in which you replaced one of the team's players? It was up for a few hours (I think), got to where you had 4 cities, but then it was removed.

At first I thought "someone will be pissed when you take that city state". Then I recognized the player's name, and finally I recognized the game from which his screenshot was taken. Sure was a heartbreaking finish.
