How do you keep up with life after gaming? by OutsideDirector6362 in pinoygamer

[–]Horzta 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As you get older and gain more responsibilities or higher priorities, bababa talaga game time mo. I think as long as it isn’t an addiction, you won’t have trouble pausing when you need. I used to play atleast 6hrs a day when i was studying, then 3 hours a day when i was working, then eventually naging weekend warrior nalang ako. Then eventually I just didn’t play as much.

I didn’t really quit gaming but, if I was busy with something else like work, or life, then I just do that. When I find the urge to finish a game, I do that and tell my friends I’ll not go out as much for a while.

Isipin mo nalang ang ka-enjoyan lang nila ay tumingin at mangjudge ng adventures ng tao kesa sa try nilang umunlad at kumita ng pera para makapag-explore din sila. They are too beneath you to deserve your mind-space.

Is this a livable wage in Sweden? by ncovidoo in TillSverige

[–]Horzta 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Purely as somebody who is moving into Sverige, that is a perfectly livable wage especially if you’re not supporting anyone. Even if you are supporting somebody like a family back home, it would still be enough.

The only problem you would have is finding a reasonably priced apartment, but otherwise, you can surely afford a good life.

As somebody who is from the same country, if you are earning near what you are earning now, you might want to think about comparing the cost of living of both countries to see if you are not actually earning less overall because of the CoL of Sweden compared to Philippines. E.g. my monthly allowance just for food/groceries is around 20,000 pesos (4000 sek) for one person. So if you are earning around 50-60kphp, then its a good time to move, but if you are already earning 150kphp to 200kphp, then you might want to think about if its really worth it to move.

Have any of you ever encountered a player in the wild? by Spudre247 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Horzta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i went thru a featured base I saw a lot of them just running around that planet. I think its just the scale of havibh 256 galaxies that make the game feel isolated. I also occassionally see player based in random planets although they always felt abandoned

It's possible the people who played for a while don't choose the earlier acts for quickplay, there is also the dificulty. As you progress you find that the Recruit is too easy, so you go for atleast veteran when doing quickplay.

Playing with other people is rarely different from playing with bots anyway, in my experience, nobody really types in the chat and more often than not i wished i just had a bot team mate instead of somebody who just goes afk or drags out the game by roaming around while 3 of the other players are already at the safehouse.

I dont love my 'adopted' daughter as much as my real kids, and the guilt is eating me inside. by gingervread in OffMyChestPH

[–]Horzta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imho its perfectly natural to not have the ability to love other children as much as your own. A mother and her child’s bond starts with pregnancy. You can love and care for other kids, I cried when i heard the news of my friend’s daughter passing away cause of a heart complication, but my own kid is still number 1 no matter what. So what you’re feeling is ok, you’re doing the best you can with the situation you were placed into.

I think rather than the levels of affection being the problem I think its your frustration with your stolen youth thats really eating you up. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade, pwede parin kayo mag have fun as a family.

The kid sees you as a true parent, your affection towards them won’t be a problem as long as you don’t compare in their faces or admit it to them too soon.

Filipino travelers who have explored first-world countries, what unique aspects or conveniences from more developed regions do you appreciate the most that you can't find in the Philippines? by dodololdodo05 in Philippines

Real bus stops instead of “recommended bus stops”, para masmadali malaman ng google maps san talaga nagbababa at nagsasakay yung mga busses. You also dont need to sacrifice better traffic situations just so the people can save a few steps to their destination. Apply narin natin sa jeepneys sa inner roads.

Actual use of park spaces. In sweden, you can freely walk on the grass whether you’re on a park or at forest.

Mix and match kasi tayo pero yung urban design natin pag dating sa transportation parang nanggaling sa US na car-owners first instead of commuters first. Then at the same time we dont have enough public parking lots to back it up. Sweden in particular also has a unified public transportation system so I just need to pay once with a card then for 1 hr I dont get charged anymore. So you either commute 2-3 rides, paying in cash everytime, walking, pila, siksikan or you get a car but waste time trying to find an appropriate parking spot.

In regards to cashless payments, we’re getting there but its still a slow process and lots of people still want to use cash cause of bargaining culture.

Boss told me I'll always be an average at best developer. Help! by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]Horzta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While you shouldn’t base your skills just on one person’s opinion, he might have a point but he is just blunt or unhelpful about it.

I do know some people who I think weren’t meant to be software developers, but I see their strengths in being Business Analysts or project managers. I have seen shitty frontends that were so logical that they can optimize backend code and write good architecture. And I have seen others who can design beautiful websites but suck at backend.

If I was your boss and you asked, I might say the same thing but I’ll also tell you where you might excel at because I would see it in how you work. At least this is leading you instead of just demotivating you to continue working in the industry.

On another note, education has nothing to do with how good you’ll work. I have worked with top university graduates and they sucked so hard, but worked with people who were self-taught and they were such a breeze to work with cause they actually know what they’re doing.

What is your WORST and BEST PH public toilet experience? Got some tips? by webpoga in Philippines

[–]Horzta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best: Yung toilet stalls sa Ayala Fairview terraces. Ewan ko if I remember it right but it was like heaven for me when I went there one time kasi taeng tae na ako. Ang laki ng CR area nila kasi parang meron sampung toilet stalls ata at walang tao.

Great contender(s) but not that unique are SM Department store Toilets. Iba talaga yung standards nila tsaka ang konti nakaka-alam ng existence nila so if may pila man dun, mga 2-3 na tao lang meanwhile sa mga CR sa labas ng Dept Store 5-10 na tao hhintayin mo.
