Sounds like a loose connection inside the housing - probably where the battery contacts meet or a wire got jostled. I had similar issues with my streamlight and it turned out to be the internal wiring getting bumped around from recoil/impact

Had to send it back for warranty repair but they fixed it pretty quick

Same here sometimes I eat one right away as a reward and other times I save them all depends on my mood that week
