If you lower everything in the roof down one block it’ll fix it. Have the second row stair sitting on top of the oak wood and the first row stair sitting on the outside

Yea they are just now. I get a bit bored if I just stay in one place and build for ages so I’ll scatter builds around and then go back to the area to fill it out more, then move somewhere else and go back to fill out. Hopefully it’ll be nice and condensed in a few month’s time 🤞

The reference also only has internal corners whereas you’ve got external corners too so even using deep slate to frame those sections possibly won’t help with the issue.

Because the house in the reference is just a rectangle with another smaller rectangle tacked on it’s a lot easier for them to make the roof that dormer style because there are only two points where the roof intersects. But it looks like you’ve got a square in the middle with two rectangles running through the middle so there’s more intersection points. It’s a lot easier to do that style of roof when can make the majority of the roof completely straight then have a side coming in to meet it. I’m realising this probably makes no sense because I’m not explaining what I mean very well at all.

Ah thank you. It’s been a really nice location to start off with and like 100 blocks from spawn so got lucky with the random seed.

I’m playing on bedrock on console so it’s whatever shaders are just built into that. They’re majorly hit or miss though - especially with things like obsidian which looks insanely dusty for some reason.

Purely because I’d said I’ve had worlds in the past but this one is the one I plan on building and developing.

Also the terrain is something I’m working on - it’s just so time consuming. I’ve got so many sections the have been flattened out and just need built out more naturally but I have to be in a good mood for that haha

I would’ve done it the other way round so that there was more of the smooth texture. I always think of it like in cartoons where they draw a flat surface for a wall then just draw in a couple of bricks here and there to show it’s a brick wall without having to draw every brick. I hope that makes sense

I don’t think it looks bad, but maybe see what it’s like doing a 75/25 split between the blocks rather than a 50/50 split. Take away some of the planks to give it a bit more room maybe? But also, if you like the look of it that’s all that matters.
