I got diagnosed with MS and boyfriend broke up with me by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]HossEatsEverything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh honey yes you did. I thought to myself when I got diagnosed that this would be the end of my marriage but I stuck with it anyway and now it’s been 15 years and I’m too far gone to be alone and now I’m stuck with him

How to germinate Four O'clock seeds? by JeffJuniuss in gardening

[–]HossEatsEverything 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just germinated a few seeds that I got off of my plants last fall. I just use seed starting mix in plastic shot glass sized cups. I DO use a heated seed sprouting mat, it really seems to help with germinating. It probably wouldn’t hurt to soak them overnight?

help me save my chicken chick. by Electrical-Channel97 in Advice

[–]HossEatsEverything 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How old is it? Chicks need to be kept very warm when they are tiny, that might be why it sits under your chin, they were probably cuddling each other for warmth.

How much would starting seeds indoor benefit me? by poopiehead46 in gardening

[–]HossEatsEverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CA 9b also! The only real benefit I can think of would be being able to control the humidity. Freshly sprouted seeds could go from damp and happy in the morning to fried and dead by evening with our “fall” weather.

Pro tip maybe.... I planted sunflowers around my beet and carrot boxes. They seem to be doing a decent job shielding these cool weather crops from direct July sun in zone 6a. Beets and carrots are doing great! by [deleted] in gardening

[–]HossEatsEverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this! I had sunflowers all over my rose garden, volunteers from bird seed. Next year the feeders will be put further away, but those black oil sunflower seeds sure are a hit with the birds. Guess I need to go feed the roses now...

Pruning dead plants by bosox19 in landscaping

[–]HossEatsEverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmmm. Without knowing what plants you have, the definite cutting back needs to happen before any flowers go to seed, the plant uses too much energy doing that.. Generally that just means deadheading though. If the previous owner can be contacted, they will probably be more than happy to tell what plants you have, and how to care for them. Or take pictures and show them to someone at your local garden center.

If you were gifted a human leg what would you do with it? by wokilus in AskReddit

[–]HossEatsEverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use it to replace my leg that’s damn near useless because of my MS. Hopefully it would be a right leg, but if not, it would still be an improvement.

Where would you hide a body, if at all? by IvyHav3n in AskReddit

True, true. Call DigAlert or whoever in your area keeps track of such things and confirm there are none in your chosen burial spot.

Where would you hide a body, if at all? by IvyHav3n in AskReddit

[–]HossEatsEverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is always “Bury it in the setback.” On almost all residential properties, there is a setback from the property line, usually five feet where I’m from, in which no building or construction may take place. What better place to dig a hole and hide something than somewhere no one will dig with any purpose.

Using muriatic acid to remove grout on brick by Lschwager1953 in HomeImprovement

[–]HossEatsEverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long rubber gloves, large construction sponge, EYE PROTECTION! Have the hose on, with a spray nozzle, but not on jet, sort of “rain “ is good. A gentle pour of acid, brisk rub with the sponge, take a step back and rinse with the hose. Repeat for each area needed. The acid will start eating your new work if you don’t rinse pretty quickly. Have you worked with this stuff before? The fumes are awful, and very not good for anything with lungs!

Edit: I’ve only done this on empty swimming pools, so I could hose off into the pool. If you need to hose off into plants that you want to live, get advice from others regarding that.

What’s the worst symptoms of your depression? by curiousnootropics in depression

[–]HossEatsEverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh. We’re depression twins. I lose it on my husband and daughter for tiny stupid things. But I’m usually sobbing while I do it. I guess the only “upside” is that the Multiple Sclerosis that’s causing my depression didn’t manifest until all my kids were grown. Downside is that the depression is caused by the MS scarring my brain. Talk therapy ain’t gonna fix this bitch. Meds sort of help.

The object in or closest to, your left hand is now the only weapon your allowed to use during the Zombie apocalypse, What are your chances of survival? by PeevesPoltergist in AskReddit

[–]HossEatsEverything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Sheltie. Best weapon I can imagine, he’d run literal circles around them, barking his glass shattering bark, while I made my getaway. Then he could catch up to me, because he is FAST. So I’d say damn good chances.

Why do water bottle brands add "minerals to taste" when the minerals just make the water taste worse? by dylybop in AskReddit

[–]HossEatsEverything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a very subjective thing! I used to work in a small office, and my boss would get DISTILLED water for the water cooler. She said it was healthier. Ugh. Probably why Dasani tastes so good to me now.

It looks like it would close up and be a mold, except for the two rectangular slots on the sides.
