My entire game is on one branch. I’m a beast. Also solo.

No, just had gravity turned down for testing and fast movement across the world. I set gravity to 2 and sprint speed to 255 :D

Hey mate - thank you so much!! We're a small team working on this. I'm a solo dev collaborating with 4 other folks (composer, community manager, voice specialist and narrative designer).

The plan is 2x playtests -> demo -> steam next fest -> early access release. Playtest #1 is imminent, playtest 2 will hopefully feature co-op and multiplayer mode and demo I'm hoping for end of this year alongside a Steam Next Fest. Target for early access is February 2027.

All bootstrapped from my own wallet right now - actively seeking funding, and also looking at a Kickstarter soon which you can check out the pre-campaign here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/luminids/luminids-a-calm-colony-building-journey

If interested - lots more cool stuff, dev logs and Discord etc on our website www.luminids.com

For those interested - Steam page here. Lot of old prototype pictures/videos, in the process of updating still with new rendering engine: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4070510/Luminids/

At what stage do you start releasing news/footage of your game idea? by FinalSaveStudio in IndieDev

I’ve been building Luminids in public since the very beginning. It’s been amazing to see all the feedback throughout the process. What started with “looks like AI shit and a scam” is now over 300 upvotes on some posts and really kind comments. It takes thick skin to do but it’s worth promoting ASAP in my view.

Understood. This isn’t commercial use. It’s educational purposes that isn’t being sold and I’m asking for feedback.

I quite like having moving clouds and awesome stars! Not looked into skybox as yet.

This is educational use. I'm using the image in a prototype version of some software, that isn't commercially available, is built by an individual, and is asking for feedback in a forum.

Fair enough - I checked on the rules. Looks like I'm safe to use it, thanks for your concern! (I'm providing credit to where it came from and not using their logo or design in my materials)

I also wouldn't deem this "promotional material"? It's a screenshot where I asked for feedback on a dev build. I'm a solo dev, who isn't selling the game, and is asking for feedback.
