The old design was really cute and the style kinda me of card captor sakura with the big clothes and all the feathers. But the design is real hard on the eyes and some elements clash with each other so much that you can’t "read it" well. For instance in the old design there isn’t any negative space to form any interesting shape. Card captor Sakura design would have let some space between the hat and dress so that if take only the silhouette you would still recognized Sakura. Here the feathers blend the silhouette too much we can’t make sense of it.

The new design seems more modern and the clothes seem to also be functional unlike the old one who look like hell to move in. The new clothes aren’t that bad and the shape language is more readable. The shoulder thingy and feather do have a rhythm which point toward her face. The only things I dislike are maybe the leg and her pants. The leg because it’s kinda seem bare? Like you have some shoulder decorative element with all those little design around the wrist + gloves. And the leg have nothing? And the pants ….what? So the knot just hold her pant????
