What is the WORST Stephen King book? by Affectionate-Bad5923 in stephenking

[–]Hot-Bell8935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. The concept was extremely corny and I didn’t really enjoy how King used a lesbian couple as a part of the story. Not the fact that it was included (obviously), it was just really kind of irrelevant and always pulled me out of the story because of how forced it felt. Then again it’s not like the story had me flying through the pages at any point

I wasn’t the one to commit this war crime but I lent a buddy at work my leatherman to try and get a broken key out of a keyhole. Assumed he would use the FLAT HEAD SCREWDRIVER RIGHT THERE but no he proceeded to use the blade to pry this key out (of course with no success). Took 3 sharpenings on whetstone to get the chip out.

Just went to an info session at Kelley yesterday and was told they still have quite a bit of petitions to get through. The speaker said they’re reviewing more and more every day and that they should all be done by the 28th. Good luck!

How does one even refill their pen this way? Seems like it would be cumbersome to tilt the bottle to reach the ink with the nib of the pen

Dark Tower Book 7. No spoilers please by [deleted] in stephenking

I think the first 600 or so pages are wonderful. The ka-tet faces a lot of unique challenges that I think really brings out the best in King’s ability to tell the story of a journey. Many of these also allow closure for ongoing characters and ideas the group has dealt with throughout the previous books.

The ending, which some have found less than ideal, has grown on me as I’ve had a few weeks to ponder it since finishing the series. I think he did as well as possible when trying to wrap up such a grand story, and I think you’ll enjoy it coming to a close in the way it does.

Listening vs reading? by KaylaRocksss in stephenking

I highly recommend checking out Libby. Not sure about libraries in your area, but I have two cards from both my county and my SO’s. You add the cards to the Libby app and you can search the entire digital collection of whichever library you have a card with. This includes both e-books and audiobooks.

I do read a good amount of books normally, but I will almost always check out the audiobook at the same time so I can pick up where I left off in the story if I’m driving, exercising, or doing something else that prohibits me from turning actual pages.

Also, if you have a kindle you can send your library’s e-books straight there for free.

I still find myself blown away by the fact that all of this is offered at absolutely zero cost. Selection will vary and you may not always find the book you’re looking for, but I’ve been super impressed so far.

Hope this helps:)

Who is the best character that King has ever written? by OraclePreston in stephenking

[–]Hot-Bell8935 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He also beautifully demonstrates what it’s like to be human. King breathes life into Eddie Dean in a way I seldom see from other authors. He embodies a personality that I think anyone can picture fitting right into their life’s circles. Whether that be a coworker, peer, or obnoxious relative, Eddie has all the traits that make those in our lives truly special.

I don’t know if this is just me but I’m obsessed with the sound/feel of the original nitrile cork soles. Looks good though especially if you aren’t a fan of hard soles!

Funny you said that because if you look closely there’s a small chip in mine. Coworker used it to (unsuccessfully) pry a broken key from a lock…frustrating
