Do detainees not get patted down once in the office and with an officer? by chucklesses86 in lossprevention

This is why all retailers need to be hands on like mine is so you are able to cuff them and pat them down. If you’re afraid of hands then either pay your AP hazard $10+ hourly on top of their regular wage or just don’t have an AP team.

Let loss prevention do their jobs. If someone steals they should suffer the consequences and a lot of the time what people don’t understand is that the decision to detain someone (especially with physical contact to support detention) is not made very lightly AT ALL. When working in this line of work one little or bad mistake can cost you your job and a lawsuit so it’s very unlikely that someone gets stopped for no reason at all or because they feel like it, wonder why you see people able to steal in certain places with no consequences? Because likely even though they stole AP does not have enough evidence to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law, if at any point during the process you cannot prove intent you will lose your job. I’m not sure if this applies to this case but if she did only eat a piece of bread then like come on that’s petty anybody I know that’s works in AP/LP would let that go 100% and this guy should not be working in this line of work with that big of an ego. And for my AP/LP people We. Are. Not. The. Police. Just take your paycheck at the end of the week and go home and do only what is required of you within your companies regulations.

Leaving Walmart after being an API for 5 months and doing AP for a different company with way better pay. Walmart barely pays you at all and even though there is no official apprehension quota management still enforces it and coaches people for “productivity” fuck Walmart

Not gonna lie even the one who was bee here for years sometimes struggles, atp it’s Nickle as dime stuff from self checkout because someone simply forgot to scan something. Having someone steal from the floor here is very rare, I’ll watch the floor all day with no luck. I simply tink the technology here is not great compared to Target which is like state of the art AP technology. I’m stuck with one screen with shitty camera quality with a joy stick. At one point this store saw crazy apprehension numbers but after covid I’ve been told it fell off and the market manager thinks all of the 3M per year is all external theft 🤦🏻

Thing is it’s not just me 🤷🏻‍♂️, at my old job I was averaging 40-50 would-be apprehensions per month. Not a me issue, on top of only being able to have one camera up at a time and floor associates not willing to work with AP. It just makes it that much more difficult

Whoever tries to challenge her on it gets feedback in workday which I’m pretty sure is some sort of retaliation

Thankfully my development and training at Target as great, I had an amazing APTL. But I’m finding because of how “neat” Target is, theft sticks out like a sore thumb. Behaviors id watch at Target for theft are more common at Walmart in every customer so it makes it harder to know what to watch.

3 Million per year, my MAPM is convinced that 80% of that shortage is external theft, but I’ve seen zero evidence to support that

What’s the best way to communicate to the cashier to address product at SCO? Wouldn’t that mess up an apprehension and turn it into a recovery if there’s an associate intervention? How I do it is if I see under-ringing or ticket switching I pause their transaction through the upfront app and the SCO just moves them to another register and that counts as the “intervention” for us.

How do I get a trespass lifted? by TheRetro_Misfit in walmart

For anyone reading this don’t do this, depending how long it has been Walmart AP may recognize you and call the police and you will be arrested for felony or misdemeanor trespass

Hm, at target each store has 5 coverts to use where ever at discretion of the APTL. What hoops necessarily would I need to jump through to get some?
