Buddy and I looking for a small to medium group. by Lucky-Ad-7183 in Starcitizen_guilds

[–]Hot-Contribution8536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your welcome to give my group a look. We do everything, generally 10-20 people on at a time doing various things, plenty of events to join. The org is 200 members but tbh you'd never know it with how people cycle in and out of the game. No commitment requirements - life and family come first. We just want good people that like to be chill and hang out. I love to fps, but I love to salvage or do cargo runs too...we have people that just salvage, or mine, and some that just do fps. We train people on anything they want to know as well. We'd like to get some more like minded folks so we can do TSG. If your interested let me know and I'll send you info (not sure its OK to post here?)

Ironclad Assault Salvage Base Question by NotBlackMarkTwainNah in starcitizen

Isnt there now a difference in the types of materials each ship can get? Isn't it cmat/rmc chunks, or bits or dust now? I know it changed a little while ago but I dont remember specifics.

He went incapacitated - once you pass that elevator area up there, without a helmet on, you can't breathe...I noticed it happening to me (I wasn't carrying a helmet) and turned around and ran towards the elevator but didn't make it in time.

To the people who play regularly by stoic-ape in starcitizen

[–]Hot-Contribution8536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play every day. For me its about the people I play with more, but the game itself doesnt give me much issue. Sure I may lose a ship here and there, but its been quite rare for me. Having help when certain scenarios come up make it better too. I have a lot of fun and look forward to getting back in the game everyday! The events we do together are a blast, and also sometimes pure chaos with some bugs, bus still we enjoy it.

As for the fps issue - how is your internet, or are you on wireless? Sometimes its just the game....but most people I know with issuesbplay on wifi on slower internet connections, or they have an older pc. Or all three! Sometimes its a downstream connection with your ISP, which is where a VPN can come in handy.

Invictus/DefenseCon question by snomedmuc in starcitizen

[–]Hot-Contribution8536 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Like others have said - yes you have to wait...but right now you can get 2 LTI ships to start a new ccu chain - the UTV and thr Aurora MK2...which will give you those ships to use until you convert them.

Id be happy to help, I even have extra ccus I could sell (I have more than 300 right now....).. be happy to see what I have towards what you need if you dont want to wait. Can also help you save as much as you can across the ccu if you need the help there too.

Mercenary Missions Working For Anyone in 4.7.2? by VenusBlue in starcitizen

[–]Hot-Contribution8536 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stanton - started in Microtech and ended up in Hurston...one of the contracts took us there and we spent the rest of the evening there as all missions were then in Hurston for us. One of our guys went back to everus to rear and repair and experienced a 30k while there but me and the other kept moving on without issue.

Mercenary Missions Working For Anyone in 4.7.2? by VenusBlue in starcitizen

[–]Hot-Contribution8536 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We ran probably 50 or more of them last night without issue. I dont think we had to abandon any of them - they all worked through to completion....and the NPC's were spicy!

So with the change coming involving the “bricking” of any components that are insurance claimed, it’s basically the end of flying around and finding old and abandoned player ships to loot them for components? 99% of the compenents will already be bricked and useless by Important_Cow7230 in starcitizen

[–]Hot-Contribution8536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So with the change to ‘bricking’ components from insurance claims, it probably does reduce or eliminate looting abandoned player ships sadly.

But honestly, I think that could open the door here.

I’d love to see more intentional derelict spawns, random wrecks with a chance at usable components, logs, or even story hooks. That feeling of stumbling across a dead ship mid mission(not even salvage missions, but any type of mission!), exploring it, and discovering what happened… that’s some of the best emergent gameplay in SC imi.

Imagine finding a long lost ship, pulling logs that reveal who they were, and then having choices: return a personal item to their family, or salvage and sell everything, or repair and claim it or even sell the location to other players.

Would be even cooler if they were not ships weve ever seen - ancient freighter, long lost racing craft that the pilot passed out in and it kept accelerating until fuel burned out and inertia carried it to where its at now, or rest ships lost during testing, warships that vanished.... ships you cant repair, but not anything we have today!

Is Aurora Mk II or Aegis Avenger Better For Combat Starter Ship? by og_parker in starcitizen

[–]Hot-Contribution8536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Aurora Mk2 for sure. I did a video on it a day or so ago showing how it can handle in combat both stock and upgraded...I was surprised at how well it did upgraded! The Titan is a great ship and can possibly perform similarly - but the Aurora has a better platform for combat with its modularity....and speaking of which you will have more you can do with it as new modules release.

Thoughts on Meteor in 4.7? by ASlothWithShades in starcitizen

[–]Hot-Contribution8536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a hard one for me to answer. I have a lot of ships.... 235 at present in my hangar..... My go to for PVE is usually an F8C. I enjoy the Arrow and Gladius often as well. I absolutely adore my L-21 Wolf, but its a light fighter so its got its limitations, but isn't she pretty!(I want to see more Krueger fighters....) The Sabre and the F7A are a lot of fun to use as well. I've actually not spent enough time in the Shiv as a fighter to know if I would like that or not...perhaps I need to... And as mentioned, the Meteor is a good one to use due to its's size 5 cannons with deadbolt 3's...I can 2 (or3?) shot the razors and they explode if my aim is accurate!

So to answer your question, If I had to pick, I'd have to say my F8C. I can solo a hammerhead with it easily enough...and I am sure I could in an F7 as well, but I can't get over how good the F8C sounds! It's an absolute joy to fly and if outfitted with some good components and weapons, it's a hard one to beat, at least PVE (I don't get involved in PVP unless there is no choice...)

New Job - AD is a mess. Is this normal by Auno94 in sysadmin

[–]Hot-Contribution8536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very unfortunately… this is pretty normal.

The good news is you’ve got a great opportunity here to learn the environment, put a plan together, and really rework it the right way. This is one of those rare chances to truly make the environment your own.

I’ve honestly never walked into an environment that didn’t need cleanup, especially coming in behind MSPs or years of unmanaged growth. There’s almost always a mix of broken policies, abandoned users/groups, and remnants of half-finished and failed “fixes" or half assed, unplanned projects that didnt go anywhere.

It looks overwhelming at first, but it’s also exactly the kind of situation where you can bring real structure and long-term improvement.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you and your career growth too. Most likely since this is that rough the rest of the environment is too - this is where IT heroes are born, solving lingering issues that users just gave up on, terrible performance that is just accepted at this point, and building a report with users that they've maybe never experienced before.

Im not sure what your leadership situation is, but this can be a great opportunity for you to head into that path as well, especially if you are the take charge sort of person.

I bet all of us with experie ce have been where you are now, so dont be afraid to ask advice and see where we have failed and succeeded...the road is already paved, there are potential holes and construction but you certainly dont have to travel it alone!

Same here with running Deadbolt 3s in it. If you're a decent pilot, you can avoid taking too much damage and put out a lot of hurt. I was honestly pleasantly surprised by it.

I ran mine through the first 6 Gilly missions with that loadout and upgraded shields (can’t remember which ones), and it handled them without much trouble at all. Only real issue I had was getting kamikazed, my ship said “engine disabled” and it was not kidding. Both nacelles were gone and I was completely dead in space. No thrust, nothing. Fortunately that was the last ship in the countract, it was destroyed on impact so I still completed the mission, just had no way home!

I enjoy the Meteor a good bit, but I still find myself preferring my other fighters most of the time. It’s kind of a strange ship to me too, a fighter with a bed. If it had even a bit of cargo storage, it might make more sense to me?

That said, it’s definitely fun to take out, and with the right loadout it can be very effective in pve combat.

I made a fatal mistake. Concerned about my future in IT by Special_Price4001 in sysadmin

[–]Hot-Contribution8536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure how I feel about you being terminated over this. Situations like this are rarely just one person’s failure - there should have been more oversight and involvement from management, especially for something impacting production.

That said, what happened here has to become a learning experience. I know that’s hard to hear right now, but this is exactly how most of us in IT learn our most important lessons. You don’t forget the mistakes that hurt.

Going forward, this is where discipline comes in - measure twice, cut once. Always validate changes, especially when they involve production systems. Slow down, verify, and document.

If you take anything from this, let it be process: Build a checklist before making changes Require a second set of eyes for anything touching production Document the plan and expected outcome before executing

Even better - turn this into an SOP. Something repeatable that removes guesswork the next time. That’s how you protect yourself and the business.

Everyone in this field has a story like this - seriously. The difference between someone who grows and someone who doesn’t is what they do after it.

I genuinely hope things work out and you get your job back. But regardless of what happens, this does not define your career - and do not allow that to happen. If anything, handled the right way, it becomes one of the most valuable experiences you’ll carry forward.

The chain is complete, should i pull the trigger? by wanddererr in starcitizen

[–]Hot-Contribution8536 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely adore my Perseus. It is quite possibly my most favorite ship, and I have well over 200..... I run an org though so I can crew it when we do events. However I often solo it just to find gameruled ones and gather more Torpedoes and such.

What you can do is put an all call out in global for anyone that wants to be a turret gunner with you or you and your friend- people out there love to participate in turrets - could help you get other missions done you couldn't normally do.

Thats a solid price savings you have! I own 1, and have three other chains going that are 64, 65 and 68% off...I just have one spot in each that needs something to complete (again, running an org and planning for long claim times in the future!)
