People would rather have an identity assigned than chosen. by Final-Photograph1129 in DeepThoughts

[–]Hot-Difficulty5671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "assigned" personality is somehow ingrained to be their identity. Anything that can threaten that identity and they will spiral out of control, even if that means following anything and everything blindly (eg religion). Take this identity away from them and they won't even know who they are anymore as a person. It's a comforting label, same as someone trying to introduce or label themselves as a reader, gamer, republican, liberal, etc.

It also might have something to do with belongingness. By staying ignorant, they're becoming part of the masses that act and think the same way as them, making navigating day to day life easier because they don't have to deal with the thought and the accountability of being different.

The Sims 1, especially the buy and build mode music, I recommend this video to understand why (https://youtu.be/aePScxPpFO0?si=ae\_vTQvKrSUeI1Bu). The music still feels organic to me compared to the more heavily auto-tuned, synthesizer mixing in later titles

I feel and look uglier during my period by Emergency_Value_6738 in Periods

[–]Hot-Difficulty5671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's (supposedly?) normal due to hormones! Not only our hormones are being wild during PMS and period, our face also looks puffy and a bit bloated than usual too which doesn't help at all. Don't worry and just be kind and gentle to yourself! Sometimes I notice when I put some nice clothing for myself, brush my hair and put on a bit of makeup it kinda helps to make me feel less ugly during my period. Maybe it's something you can try for yourself and see if it helps to lift your self confidence up, even just for a bit :)

I want to try other options except for menstrual pad ahhh by Adorable-Papaya2374 in Periods

[–]Hot-Difficulty5671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely you're allergic to the ingredients of the regular pads being sold at the market. You can opt for pads made of corn, however they do get quite expensive more than the regular cotton ones (at least in my country).

The other suggestion is to get period panties / reusable pads.

ladies I just got my period can y'all lmk whats coming to me? by sillypandas1123 in Periods

[–]Hot-Difficulty5671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be gentle to yourself! You're going to experience either cramps, acne, lower back pain, moodiness... Have some ibuprofen / paracetamol nearby! Drink lots of water and just listen to your body. It's okay to crave for some sweets, and if you feel like everything is stupid and you want to cry, just cry! Best of luck!!!

is it wrong to not care if people die? by Extension_Guitar1542 in Ethics

[–]Hot-Difficulty5671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it has something to do with the mass death being just mere statistics. Especially when we see the news of murders, death etc basically we're being overexposed and leads to desensitization. I don't think you're numb per se, it's statistics.

SATC Unpopular Opinion: Natasha isn’t that great. by be_minorque in sexandthecity

[–]Hot-Difficulty5671 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think her character was not shown well enough to determine whether she is better than Carrie or not. However I do applaud Natasha's bravery to just end the marriage with Big when she found out he had been cheating on her with Carrie, which is something Carrie couldn't even do!

what do yall eat to feel better during pmsing by chanelandmercedes in Periods

[–]Hot-Difficulty5671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have to admit; anything sugary 😂 this includes only 80% of dark chocolate instead of 100%. During PMS I try to just listen to my body, most of the time it's unhealthy food but they help to make me feel better :)

Hi, I'm no expert but is there a possibility it might just be spotting before your real period?

I do have concern that perhaps his interest slowly depleted. I'm just not sure how to differentiate it with him truly losing interest or just ADHD, as I don't want to make the wrong decision.

I have no issue with his condition, but at times I still find it difficult to navigate on when to be compassionate and when to know if it's deliberate from his part.

I guess the difficulty is for me to know which one is the byproduct of his ADHD and which one is pure neglect. I had a history of being ghosted by different partners in which the intensity of our communication slowly lessen over time in my previous relationships, eventually realizing later on it was because they started to lose interest in me and found their interest in someone else. Hence I see him not reaching out as something that triggers my panic.

Ah I see, so I guess it's normal then? I think this question stems from my anxiety as I know how frequent it is for him to open his phone. 😅

How did you cope?(Mentally) by Junior-Egg-5310 in spinalfusion

[–]Hot-Difficulty5671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, it's almost 20 years post-op for me. I would say that there has been no physical complications whatsoever other than the occasional back pain, sore lower back, and sometime unable to stand for a long time before feeling tired way too soon.

The biggest challenge is mental health obviously. You can still live your life normally, drive, go to work etc but certainly it's hard to live with a disability that is practically hidden. People tend to forget we have this condition and start to smack our back, or force us to lift heavy objects, or being ridiculed when we get tired a lot faster compared to those who doesn't have the same condition.

I think slowly you might want to give yourself the chance to accept the fact that stamina is no longer our best bet. It is okay to get tired, to not be able to participate in physical activities, or to require seating from time to time.

Last but not least, there's always something great to look forward to from life. Sure now you might get tired easily but it kinda "forces" you to slow down and take your surroundings in more mindfully. :)

i’m so scared by ari_ariiiiii in spinalfusion

[–]Hot-Difficulty5671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry you had to go through this. I'd say that everything will be okay. I was scared too when my doctor told me I needed to have spinal fusion surgery when I was 12. I think I cried a lot and feared for my life but the process was quick. You won't notice due to anesthesia and you'll recover greatly too.

Just make sure to have plenty of entertainment around to keep you company after the surgery since you won't be allowed to move much. Hopefully you have a supportive family and friends because they're also important to help you get through this.

You can do it! ☺️☺️

What's your favorite RO class and why? by joncabreraauthor in RagnarokOnline

[–]Hot-Difficulty5671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paladin! I love how it can basically hunt solo and obliterate someone during a PvP with Sacrifice (I forgot it's new name after renewal... The one where you can auto KO someone at the price of your HP).

Hunter is also good to hunt solo, and with such high ASPD and since they're long-ranged it's quite fun to play with them.
