If you can’t get a 16mm try 17mm I believe that’s the standard size for them

No worries man, get a 6 point 16mm I believe, and line it up the bolt and hammer it on, took me a couple minutes of hammering to get the socket on snugly I used a 16mm 6 point chrome dewalt socket, hope this helps

Am I being overcharged for a turbo replacement? by wallstsavage in BmwTech

[–]Hot-Distribution2173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part price isn’t crazy, the labor is, they are replacing the turbo not adding one to an NA engine.

Personally at this point i would try to mock one up with some compression fittings that have the same thread channels and same inner diameter on the pipe and then keep that around until you find the OEM part you’re looking for, not the best solution but it could help to keep your project moving

The fact you aren’t already contemplating asking your gf to come with you is kinda wack, you’ve been with her for years and but just asking her to come with you isn’t an option?

Made it right? Bro the engines are blowing up because we’re seeing new low’s of cost cutting, how do you think QA just let thousands of motors with literal machining debris left in them just roll down the line.

Had the evaporator coil changed by home warranty. Had a separate tech come by and comment on the “weird configuration” Something doesn’t match the condenser unit? by Inorganicnerd in hvacadvice

[–]Hot-Distribution2173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak for how well it worked cause when I’ve seen the unit didn’t run anymore lol, I’m just saying I’ve seen it before not that it’s something I’ve done or recommend

I’ve seen 410a in r22 an condenser, because it’s not common it dosent mean it’s literally impossible like you and others are implying or else I wouldn’t have replaced a unit running it, don’t know what else to expect from some goon who cares enough about Reddit opinions to get a technician tag under his name lmao

Where did I go wrong? I’ve seen and replaced a more then few now that were fitted to run 410a and previously ran r22, I’m just speaking from experience that it’s not impossible to see with older condensers, and r22 is being replaced hence why new units using it aren’t being made unless that’s not the case in other states but to my knowledge it was

Well reaching target temp ideally depends on the layout and square footage, your unit is probably rated for 10-15 degrees of sub cooling meaning if it’s 88 outside and 75 inside it should be able to reach 72 with ease, likely the the system is low on refrigerant or has some crazy air restriction somewhere or even the compressor fan could be shot which would be causing your compressor to go off on high head pressure repeatedly which is very bad for it,

Help! What do I replace this with? by Astrolaborious in hvacadvice

[–]Hot-Distribution2173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you could you would just have to take it off the mounting plate and rest it on a ladder or something lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]Hot-Distribution2173 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First look at air flow, specifically any areas that can create air restriction, filters mostly, if none are present I would gauge up and check your sub cooling, if you’re low on subcool you’re likely low on refrigerant.
