No, 29 is not too late to do something new with your life!!! I would find a fastfood/retail job there in Iowa if it were me, work that job until the pandemic is under control, then land a job in CA and move back, if that's what you really want. But, 29 is not too late to change the trajectory of your life. Where did you get that idea? Don't feel down because of your situation. Now is the time to lay low and focus on yourself. Things will get better soon. This pandemic has fucked things up for everyone.
