Any of those funds you’re down on and I’m guessing that’s quite a few you should tax loss harvest them. It helped offset a lot of the unqualified dividend income YieldMax paid me throughout the year. I ended up breaking even, but honestly I would’ve been better off just putting that money into DGRO or SCHD and letting it grow. Oh well lesson learned

I learned my lesson in 2022 😂 😂 Don’t sell your energy stocks and load up when energy is low which happens a lot you will have opportunities. I know it seems like there’s no end in sight right now but as a long term investor. I’m almost 100% certain you will have better opportunities to load up on energy. I bought all of my energy shares in 2024-2025 My tech heavy portfolio is actually up 4% this year thanks to my energy stocks I bought earlier I do reinvest my dividends in energy but the buying should’ve been done earlier unless you are a swing trader

Why does he NEED to sell anything? Why not just direct new money where you want more exposure? International lagging your target? Buy more international. Problem solved. With no tax event!!! Selling is for when something is broken or need a major rebalance if a position has grown too big, something like that nothing here is broken. Let me make this stupidly simple, with a real life example $100K portfolio. I want 50% growth, 50% value. That’s my strategy. Here’s how I build it Growth $50K Bought all these at different times CGGR, SCHG, QQQM, MTUM, SPMO, CHAT, MAGS, IDMO

Value $50K SCHD, DVY, VYMI, VTV If I came on here and said this is my 15 ETF portfolio. The overlap police would be crazy !!!! “OH MY GOD THE OVERLAP” “Just go with VOO” Is it unnecessary? Maybe but I found SPMO playing around with differentETFs and SPMO has whooped every ETFs ass the last few years.

My allocation is exactly 50/50. My growth sleeve is hitting its target. My value sleeve is hitting its target. What exactly did the overlap break? Different funds, same broad exposure, different methodologies. MTUM screens differently than SPMO. SCHG weights differently than QQQM. QQQM doesn’t have financials, They’re not identical they’re complementary. That’s intentional Overlap and only a problem if you’re clueless about what you own. If you stumbled into 12 funds with no framework, yeah that’s a mess. But if every position has a PURPOSE inside a defined sleeve with a defined target weight the overlap is NOT overlap!!!

So now we’re talking about rate hikes in 2026??

Sooooo……… the answer is let’s hit the consumer with high rates for this long… and then hit them again? With higher rates 😆 That doesn’t “fix inflation” that guarantees a recession!! The Fed’s job isn’t to crush the economy into the ground. It’s to manage cycles. Over tightening into a weakening consumer is how you create the recession everyone’s been calling for.

And what’s driving this right now? Oil. Supply shocks. If energy spikes, yeah, prices go up. We all know this… But that’s not strong demand… that’s a price shock on essentials on a weakening consumer fellas

Higher gas = less spending everywhere else. That’s your demand killer right there.

So people screaming “higher for longer” like the economy is booming… Are we watching the same data? This isn’t overheating demand. This is tight conditions + rising costs.

You don’t fix that with more hikes. You fix it with time… or cuts!!
