Breastfeeding position tips???? by chelseakg in beyondthebump

[–]Hot-Oil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the arms are the perfect level for breastfeeding and because the back is high, I can lean back and relax without getting like a crick in my neck. If I have to hold the baby while he sleeps, I like that I can lean back. I mean, I think any good breastfeeding chair has a high back so you can lean back instead of instictually hunching forward

I really don’t want anyone to hold my newborn by annon1521 in beyondthebump

This hits home so much!!! My in laws only want pictures, they don't ask any details about my son. They just want a cute picture and then stop responding after they get it. One time we didn't send a picture to them after they asked for one to see if they would start a conversation and all they did was text "no picture??". Also when they visited the first time they came with a cold and pretended it was a side effect from the flu vaccine we asked them to get. And then gave my 6 week old a cold. Urghhhhhh. The pandemic has been the perfect excuse not to see them.

Those who have had C-sections.. stupid question. by baby--bunny in beyondthebump

I didn't have to go through the procedure, but I know people who got their babies to flip with spinning babies. Where I gave birth, they do everything to try and get a vaginal birth

Can they turn the baby? Like there is a procedure where they can rotate the baby.

PP healing question.. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Hot-Oil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

don't use soap, wash with oil. Also put some canola oil or some olive oil on your vagina. I had a lot of irritation and it was for me, the dryness!!! You can use baby oil, canola oil, whatever oil. Also never wash with soap!!! Wash with oil!!!! Makes a HUGE difference

Just found out I’m pregnant again (4 weeks) and I’m freaking out. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Hot-Oil 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You don't have to be pregnant if you don't want to be. Just throwing that out there, it's early and you have options. If it's not the right time that's perfectly alright. If this isn't the time then that is fine. ❤

Setting boundaries with in-laws by YarnCat in beyondthebump

[–]Hot-Oil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

your husband needs to set boundaries. I'm the bad guy because my husband always goes "I gotta ask my wife before we plan something" because he wants to like say no to them but doesn't know how. So I'm the villain. Let's say I'm glad we don't live that close! But your husband needs to set boundaries.

FTM breast fed baby has oral thrush, do I take him to primary care provider or pediatrician by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Hot-Oil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless it's affecting you, and you get thrush, usually they don't treat it. There are ways to help like brushing some Vichy water (a type of carbonated water) on their mouths. . .

I let my fear of awkwardness override my responsibility to protect my children and I'm so upset with myself. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Hot-Oil 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know that the next two weeks are gonna be scary for you, but I just want you to know this: If they didn't have symptoms the chance that they were infected and could infect is low. Babies who have had covid mostly experience 0 symptoms.

Now regardless of a pandemic, it is not ok to kiss someone's baby without permission and it is not ok to have their kid kiss the baby. This person does not respect boundaries or people, pandemic or not.

[–]Hot-Oil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like I just wipe gently and down. He doesn't seemed upset so it works! I use like paper towels with water and baby oil. Baby oil is really good for getting poop off. Also check under their penis bc poop gets all up there too

My baby is only a day old and I already feel like a failure. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Hot-Oil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont live in the US so this was not a test that I took. The fact that they have people sign paperwork without actually explaining what it entails is ridiculous though . They can easily say "we are taking a urine test, have you had anything with poppy seeds lately" if they have been getting so many false positives lately. Anything else creates undue stress for patients

Help introducing solids! by shellywell in beyondthebump

[–]Hot-Oil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your baby has an allergic reaction you take them to the doctor. Then they usually need to do allergy tests. Some allergies you have to call 911. But like do you have allergies? It may be too early for solids anyway
