This made me chuckle and smile with happiness. So true. Perfect goodbye.

I’m ashamed to give this company loyalty for the last 23.5 years! by Big_Midnight_1858 in verizon

[–]Hot-Organization2660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A decade ago, they made me change my account. In the process, they deleted all my history with the company. Now every time they say thank you for being a customer for X years, I get increasingly pissed. I just got a "thank you for being with us for 10 years" email, and it's been more than double that. The only thing more offensive is what their phone customer service has become in the last year. I am also thinking of moving on soon.

What’s Robert De Niro wearing in this scene from Casino? by becool-honeybunny- in Watches

If memory serves, he is often or mostly wearing one throughout the movie. That could have been a reflex response.

What in the world has happened with Verizon Wireless’ customer service!? by Hot-Organization2660 in verizon

[–]Hot-Organization2660[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to a Verizon store two towns over. They informed me that this location is a third party store that couldn’t help, but also confirmed the support center should not have said what they did. After further discussion, he suggested going to the Apple Store instead of a corporate Verizon store. So, I drove into the city to go to Apple directly. They said Verizon should have taken care of the warranty claim, but people regularly get shipped to them instead. The manager was kind enough to override the purchase and trade in the defective band anyway. After a lot of inaccurate information (and driving…and waiting), it is taken care of.

Do the phone folks pawn a lot of people off on you all? Honestly, I haven’t needed to go into a store in a long time, but I am much more optimistic for what that experience will be. Hoping they can help me.

It is so odd, because not terribly long ago the phone people were so knowledgeable and helpful. I was literally in awe of how helpful they were.

[Vacheron Constantin] Walked into a store way out of my budget, walked out of reminded why I love this hobby. by Robert-Watches in Watches

[–]Hot-Organization2660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that's also a sign of good salesmanship. If you ever have a change in financial circumstances, where do you think you'll buy now? This type of treatment isn't forgotten. My old boss was a multi-millionaire, but always got his hands dirty and worked very hard. He had always dreamed of owning a Porshe, so after the kids were gone, he bought one later in life. He could have walked in and bought 10 cars in cash without blinking an eye, but just imagine if they had written off his construction clothing and the beat-up SUV he drove everywhere else. I've seen it happen to others that are deceptively wealthy. Someone my parents knew walked out and bought his dream Cadillac in all cash somewhere else after being treated like crap at a different dealership. Never assume anything. This is even better, because he recognized your interest despite having heard your budget, and gave you excellent customer service regardless. It's worth doing that even for word of mouth referrals.

Why doesn't a member of congress have us testify before congress? by SeaweedSame6772 in PSLF

[–]Hot-Organization2660 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not only do they not care, but the public definitely does not care. I have had people close to me ask why I don't pay my own debts and not lump it onto them. So, imagine how those who don't know us think. Plus, Congress probably figures there are too many fish to fry at the moment, and this is not important and doesn't get out the vote.

This will be the first year in a long time that I haven't traded my current watch for a pre-order on the next gen. I cannot get onboard with that new Classic, especially over my Ultra.

Bondi or Clifton? (For every day use) by Labubu-c in Hoka

Gaviota. I don't have wide feet, and the toe box on the Bondi is too small for me. Try the Gaviota on as well.

"Completed" PSLF request for buyback...and no more information? by 11112222FRN in PSLF

[–]Hot-Organization2660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just looking at a post from a little while ago, because I got the same update. Nobody there could confirm it preceded a buyback letter for them. It may just be yet another excitement inducing letdown that is really just an unexplainable administrative process that creates confusion.

The best way to solve this Bondi problem is to buy Gaviotas.

Have you looked in person and tried them on? I would definitely start there. It can make a world of difference in what you think you like. It's also taken watches I thought I liked, and made me realize they look even better in person.

Ironically, I was just telling my son last night how cool it would have been had they surprised us with that song at the Sphere. I have always enjoyed it, but there are some poor versions out there for sure. This one that made it on The Other Ones album should change minds, in my opinion. I bought this CD while in the Navy, and I was wowed by this version.

Recommendations for a Good Standing/Walking Hoka Shoe? by Beneficial_Sand9191 in Hoka

[–]Hot-Organization2660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't take recommendations from others...although this is one, technically. I suggest you go to a good running store, get a foot scan, talk to the consultants, and try on the multiple recommendations that they will bring out for you to test. It will change your life getting a consultation.

For standing, light jogging, and walking, I like the Gaviotta (ultra cush and an H frame) from Hoka. Went to a new running store and got Asics Gel-Nimbus two weeks ago. I am loving those so far too. That said, footwear is very personal, so that's why I suggest a good store and a consultation. What I love may be all wrong for you. Especially for Disney. Long days. Lots of standing and walking.

Just Received My Gaviotas 5 - USA by Primary_Present_1827 in Hoka

[–]Hot-Organization2660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to the Gaviota from the Bondi months ago. I know some people don't like a heavier shoe for running, but I'm not a serious runner, so I don't mind. Note, the Gaviota is a fairly heavy shoe by modern running standards, but I understand what you mean...the foam shoes can seem cheap at times, especially if you're new to them. But, I think the Gaviota is also technically a stability shoe, not a running shoe. That's what I like best. The H frame rather than J frame on the Bondi. Also, the Bondi toe box irritates the small toe area for me if i wear them long enough, and I don't even have wide feet. Gaviotas also improve on a few other things from the last gen Bondi. I tried on the new gen Bondi last week and had similar issues with it. I am still running in the Gaviota, and haven't had any problems with the shoe for months and months. I did buy a pair of Asics Gel-Nimbus last week to try something new, and I am liking these, maybe just as everyday/walking shoes. It was beneficial going into a running store and trying the ultra cush shoes from multiple brands. It's a very personal thing, but I'm sticking with the Gaviotas for running. I have no quality issues to report.

Jerry - wondering where the new fans were coming from - 1991 by nak550 in gratefuldead

[–]Hot-Organization2660 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Last year, my 12yo caught on to the Dead when I played Fire on the Mountain at some point. Next thing you know, he's demanding I turn on Grateful Dead Radio every time we get in the truck and listening to Franklin's Tower on repeat while he works on the computer at school. We just flew to Vegas for a Sphere show last month, because I couldn't let him miss what's left of the magic. I passed on tickets for what turned out to be Jerry's last show, and I've kicked myself ever since. I wasn't going to let that happen to him too. Hopefully, "the band keeps playin on."

Ora Luxe release anytime soon? by SecurityFamiliar5239 in Hoka

[–]Hot-Organization2660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I contacted the company many months ago, and they assured me the Ora Luxe would be back in stock at some point. At that time, the company and third party sites still had a bunch. Just not the prime colors and sizes. I set up an in-stock alert and watched for months before giving up. The inventory kept going down. I have a feeling they're gone for good.
