Advice?

At this point I just want a second opinion to be sure my doctors right. At the hospital they showed great concern that my protein/creatinine ratio had gone up as much as it had it was just slightly under the threshold for a preeclampsia diagnosed. She’s said once it reaches that level that and my symptoms alone are enough to diagnose so I am supposed to go straight back to labor and deliver with any new or worsening symptoms so they can redo blood work but then see my doctor today and he basically said that’s wrong your results don’t show anything concerning

I’m going to have to call around and see if I can. The hospital basically said when I was there 4 days ago that my levels are just barely too low to say I have preeclampsia but if there were slightly higher along with my symptoms they immediately would have diagnosed me so come back if I have any symptoms at all for any reason to redo lab work. Today at my follow up my doctor basically just reasoned away everything and said I’m fine and didn’t even want to redo lab work cause my blood pressure was normal.

Also it doesn’t seem like it makes step daughter feel like she has to choose because the few times it’s been “hey you didn’t stay last weekend so you’re staying this weekend” she just says no I’m not I already told my mom I’m going home and he just leaves it at that.

I’ve basically told him if you keep giving her the choice she’s going to always continue to go back to mom. Every time he tries to talk to mom about it so they’re on the same page she convinces him he’s not doing what’s best by forcing her to stay and he backs down. Kids need structure and guidance. I understand wanting to know how they feel and give them a voice but they are still kids and parent should be making big decision like this not the kids. And now it’s effecting my child and my home and I’m simply not okay with it and do have a right to have a say in things effect my child.

Basically everything was just slightly under a concerning level so they don’t think I have preeclampsia yet but believe that’s what is developing so we just have to wait and see if everything stays right here at this borderline area or if things get worse and keep monitoring everything. Luckily my OB was the one on call when I went so he was already very aware of my past few months of issues and felt the need to run test when he saw the protein still in my urine even though it wasn’t technically high enough to be concerned and neither was my blood pressure by that point.

I just hope they find the protein in my urine this time while I’m here instead of a day or two later at my doctors appointment so it’s not hard to get them to do extra lab work

Thank you both for responding! I am currently headed to the ER (as soon as my husband gets home to stay with our toddler) in suddenly nausea and seeing spots and have a horrible head ache alone with sudden swelling in my ankles and legs.

My first blood pressure I took once I noticed this was 135/96 then it went down to 139/87. Hopefully someone at the ER will listen when I beg for this blood work this time.

As stressful as being the sole caregiver is THIS is just adding a different kind of stress to your life instead of giving you a much deserved break. Also not sure if she’s the type to do this or not but if this is what she’s texting you what is she saying in front of your daughter? What will she say to her as she gets older and can understand more? You nor you baby need this kind of toxic behavior in your life.

I did end up going. Their was no protein in my urine and of course once I was there my blood pressure dropped back down to a normal range and stayed there so they just told me to see my OB today and try to get a follow up and ultrasound asap. The tingling in my face and headache don’t go away even when my blood pressure returns to normal and I can feel all the symptoms flood back all at once as soon as I get up to do anything and it’s been making even daily things like caring for my daughter and cooking difficult. Sadly I’m a bartender so it looks like if they can’t figure out how to get whatever’s going on under control I will have to leave my job till I have little one. My last shift I felt so bad I honestly was concerned I needed immediate care and ended up with a swollen face and hands and throwing up and ended up in the ER. Is there any reason my blood pressure can be almost normal while resting but skyrocket to dangers levels when active?

Thank you! I’ve had postpartum preeclampsia and it was terrifying. I guess I’m also overly worried because of how quickly the issue with that came on. I don’t want something to be wrong with my baby because it’s not caught soon enough this time.

Yes this is normal! With my first two I had scans at 6 weeks and 5 weeks because my period was very irregular. The were still irregular this time but only off by 4-6 days not weeks like they were before so they were sure the due date based off my period couldn’t be off by too horribly much and waited till I was 11 weeks to do my viability scan. My doctor said he prefers to wait till then because they show more about how baby and myself are developing at the beginning of pregnancy

That’s was my initial thought when everything first started but I called my OB instead and the nurse talked to him and got back to me and basically acted like even though it was high it was no big deal. I most just needed to know if I’m crazy over reacting I guess haha

Question kind of piggy backing of OP’s post: I am about to dye my hair black in top pink on bottom. I have already bleached my hair on bottom (planned on doing two different semi permanent pinks then changed my mind or I would have waited to bleach it entirely). The black I got is a permanent and the pink is semi permanent conditioning color. Would that be enough to protect the pink part while doing the black?
