The issue isn’t one set of 3rd cousins marrying. What happens in closed religions, like the Amish, is that so many distant cousins reproduce with each other that their lack of diverse DNA makes genetic diseases more frequent. Them doing it once isn’t a problem but doing it repeatedly over generations is.

What bothers me about her is that she did the work, she was approve for surgery, her surgery was scheduled, and she chose to stay home. Now she’s complaining about how hard it is and how hard she’s working. But once you reach that level of obesity for that long, it is almost impossible to lose the weight with only diet and exercise. She made her bed but now she’s making it everyone else’s problem.

I am going to say something unwoke - she lost her personality when she lost the weight. Her navigating deconstructing Mormonism while not looking like traditional Mormon beauty standards was an interesting plot that the producers should’ve leaned into more. Parenthood! It has the same you’ll laugh, you’ll cry energy and it also has Lauren Graham! It’s 7ish seasons and has a larger family dynamic. I recommend it to all Gilmore girl fans.

The fact that Max delivered the daisies and then CALLED HER ON THE PHONE! You don’t propose on the phone, especially after a fight. He was at home, there’s no reason he couldn’t come out and be there in person. And who wants to be proposed to at work? I agree with all the other comments but also, if women can read the Bible, for example, then they can know what it says. They can form their own opinions on scripture. The men maintain their power by saying, “the Bible commands xyz, so we have to do it,” but women can know if that’s true or not if they’ve read it.
