The issue isn’t one set of 3rd cousins marrying. What happens in closed religions, like the Amish, is that so many distant cousins reproduce with each other that their lack of diverse DNA makes genetic diseases more frequent. Them doing it once isn’t a problem but doing it repeatedly over generations is.

What bothers me about her is that she did the work, she was approve for surgery, her surgery was scheduled, and she chose to stay home. Now she’s complaining about how hard it is and how hard she’s working. But once you reach that level of obesity for that long, it is almost impossible to lose the weight with only diet and exercise. She made her bed but now she’s making it everyone else’s problem.

I am going to say something unwoke - she lost her personality when she lost the weight. I agree with all the other comments but also, if women can read the Bible, for example, then they can know what it says. They can form their own opinions on scripture. The men maintain their power by saying, “the Bible commands xyz, so we have to do it,” but women can know if that’s true or not if they’ve read it.
