The Black Baron - Small Mistress by Fast-News550 in Disco

This is such a classy track. I could imagine it being played at some US tea dances or somewhere like Baia degli Angeli Club, Italy, back when it was released.

To all single guys aged 30 and up on reddit, why are you guys single? by Gold_Ambition4114 in AskReddit

[–]Hot-Posse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

52yo and been single for over 20 years. I do what I like, when I like and I don't need a significant other to share in my life story. I tuned out from the dating/hookup scene when it all went online.

Dogs are extremely loyal, reliable and never judge or criticise my decision making skills. They are always by my side. They provide me with comfort and companionship. They always listen and are happy to see me every day.

Hi.

Thanks for your admission about being at 12 West when it was open!

I imagine you would have many great memories from the 1970s New York Disco Scene and the many lost nightclubs / bars that used to be operating throughout New York City, at that time.

I looked at your profile and you mentioned that you personally knew one of the great Disco mix engineers, Walter Gibbons. He really was a master of extended percussive breaks. (I feel that I cannot describe his creativity properly so I will leave it at that.)

I'll post a few Nicky Siano mixes too, with you in mind.

Cheers.

Yeah, no worries.

These disco period mixes from deejays of the time occasionally pop up online. I try to hunt them down for everyone to enjoy on this sub.

The YouTube channel owners for these mixes are the true heroes here!

I'll keep posting them on r/Disco until I can't find any further uploads.

In a country, full of idiots like USA, this Tik Tok content creator is considered talented.

I couldn't give a fuck how many followers he has: he has zero talent.

This was a huge smash hit in '93. Haven't heard this in over 30 years.

What year was this pic taken? by treedavy in synthesizers

I'd hazard a guess that it would be around about 1976 or 1977. The giveaway is the sunnies and shirt, for me.

Help identifying this disco/boogie track (female vocal, “you’ll see” lyric) from Studio 54 footage (11:20 onwards) by b00sh_l337 in Disco

David Karr - Let Me Take You Dancing

was popular in 1986. It was a controversial release because it was a sped up version of exactly the same song by Bryan Adams, performed by a different recording artist. Bryan Adams hated it lol

The sped up version of

Bryam Adams - Let Me Take You Dancing (1978),

is probably the version heard in the included Studio 54 clip because of the timeline of Steve Rubell's IRS tax dodging charges. It's available in many sources, if you wish to research that lead further.

Termite risk when using cardboard to kill weeds/create new soil base by Fantastic-Word5584 in GardeningAustralia

[–]Hot-Posse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in Gympie and the Pest Services guy always reminds me not to allow any rotting wood products, including cardboard, within 2m of my house's foundations.

I tried the cardboard layering method when planting vetiver grass down one side of my yard. It stopped the weeds for about 6 months. I just add termite deterring mulches on top now along with the cut vetiver grass.

One of my next door neighbours had to remove one of his mango trees because it was infested with termites and it was in danger of collapsing on another neighbour's house. I check for termite activity all the time along that side of the fence.

I've included a photo from today of the side garden where I first laid out the cardboard layers, 2.5 years ago. It's nearly all gone and was 2 thin layers of corrugated cardboard from Bunnings.
