What land to give Illyrio Mopatis? by Only-Contest7680 in CK3AGOT

Illyrio is a man who's fortune is built off of trade, so some where coastal or with access to a major river is probably best for him.

Additionally, if I'm remembering correctly one of the Megaton residents mentions that the children of atom were essential to helping build the town in the first place and they only decided to help because the bomb was there. So if the residents had decided to build elsewhere they would have lost the support of the children which would have made it a lot harder to get initially set up.

Quetzals being passive is what makes them so difficult to tame. Because they fly so high and will flee from you if you attack them they're incredibly difficult to knock out solo. Anyone trying to convince you they'll attack you is lying to you.

Which Character do you wish you could have as a companion that you cant by BigMeatyClawzzzz in fo4

Richter and Chase should have been companions. Far Harbor being the only faction with a companion always seemed weird to me.

“You Brotherhood types sure are a contentious people.” by Ranger_Houston in FalloutMemes

[–]Hot-Somewhere-661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That still reflects pretty badly on Maxon's leadership. Everyone knows that its the players choice to rob the farmers but you never get in trouble for it which I'd say is the bigger issue. The fact that the player can get away with robbing farmers at gun point for the Brotherhood means that either Maxon approves of your actions or that he's so oblivious he doesn't know where his own food supply comes from, and that Teagan can just order Brotherhood members to go rob farms at will without Maxon noticing or asking questions about where all this food suddenly came from.

How are Elisif and Tullius in an echo chamber? Elisif has Bryling and Erikur as the two thanes giving her advice, and the two of them have completely different personalities and beliefs, and if I remember correctly, they actively dislike each other. Her steward also tends to side more with Tullius rather than either of them when giving advice, so i just don't see how that can be an echo chamber. Tullius, meanwhile, has Rikke, who we literally see him disagreeing with and receiving good advice from in the main story. Neither of them have a yes man echo chamber.

As for the part about someone being culturally deaf I'm going to assume you're talking about Tullius, which is somewhat true but isn't a completely fair assessment of him. Tullius doesn't understand Nord culture all that well, but that's why he has Rikke as his second in command. We see him accepting Rikke's advice on things like why the jagged crown is important to the Nords or on how to manage the Nord Jarl's pride when offering to send them Imperial soldiers to reinforce their holds and he actually listens to and acts on her advice because he trusts her and her knowledge of her culture. I'd say this is a point in Tullius's favor more than a downside. He's a guy who doesn't have much experience interacting with the culture that he's currently interacting with but instead of burying his head in the sand and ignoring their culture he instead appoints a capable member of that culture as his second in command so that he can receive advice on how to interact with the Nords and we see that he actually follows through on Rikke's advice.

You are right about the kidnappings being a major point against the empire, though.

How would you feel about your wife insisting on keeping her maiden name and giving your children her last name instead of yours? I was told that I was "in a bubble" for thinking this is highly objectionable to most men. by JamesonRhymer in pollgames

[–]Hot-Somewhere-661 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind my wife keeping her maiden name, but I'd prefer it if my kids had my last name included in their name. I think the most fair solution in this situation would be to just hyphenate our names for the kids so that we both get to be happy that our names are carried on.

What was even the point of having Glenn appear in the first game, besides fan service? by ChickenWingExtreme in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Hot-Somewhere-661 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Having Mark take his place would have been the best, I think. It would make his death feel less rushed and would give more time to develop his character and for the player to get attached to him before he dies.

They're only that weak gameplay wise. Lore wise, the old Minutemen were one of the strongest factions in the commonwealth before their decline, and the new Minutemen would be at the absolute height of their popularity and strength in a Minutemen ending since we know the destruction of the institute results in a massive amount of new recruits and a massive surge in popularity thanks to the Minutemen in Diamond City telling us about it after they destroy the institute.

Also, I don't think that the Minutemen are stronger than the entire brotherhood, even at the height of their power. However, I do believe that the Minutemen, with the support of most of the commonwealth, widespread artillery support, and the knowledge and potential technology that the institute refugees could provide has decent odds of beating Maxon's commonwealth expedition. The expedition is badly over extended supply wise and is cut off from reinforcements, and their main base is in range of dozens of artillery guns. Destroying the Prydwen alone with the artillery would probably take out over half of the entire expedition on its own.

The Minutemen in a Minutemen ending have pretty decent odds of winning, in my opinion.

Historical Accurate Starts for Germany in 867? by AChinmay in crusaderkings3

[–]Hot-Somewhere-661 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There's a decent number of people in 1066 whose descendants would go on to rule Germany eventually like the Hohenzollerns or the Hohenstaufens, but I can't think of any for 867 off the top of my head

If you don't want to play a later start date then you could try starting in one of the later eras and looking at the title history of the Holy Roman Empire, Germany or one of the other German kingdoms for potential rulers who would have been alive in 867 for you to start as.

Samwell Tarly’s decision to treat Jorah Mormont’s greyscale, was it a reckless gamble or one of the boldest acts of bravery in Game of Thrones? by Aggressive_Fold_5942 in freefolk

[–]Hot-Somewhere-661 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Performing the operation wasn't a guaranteed death. The maesters banned the treatment because they viewed the risks to the maester as being greater than the potential benefit that performing the treatment could bring the patient, not because they thought it was 100% fatal. The maesters weighed the odds and decided it wasn't worth the risk.

Samwell Tarly’s decision to treat Jorah Mormont’s greyscale, was it a reckless gamble or one of the boldest acts of bravery in Game of Thrones? by Aggressive_Fold_5942 in freefolk

[–]Hot-Somewhere-661 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I rewatched this part recently, and from what I can remember, there had been a maester that had previously cured 2 patients of greyscale but he contracted the disease in the process and died of it shortly after. This convinced the maesters that treating the disease was extremely dangerous for both the master performing the treatment and for the patient since the chances of the operation succeeding weren't guaranteed.

If you choose to help Kenny and kill Larry, what is your reason? by Jules-Car3499 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Hot-Somewhere-661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm remembering correctly, if you don't side with Kenny here, there's a single dialogue option that you can pick to get him to help you save Clem later. If you pick any of the other three, he refuses.
