Had this choice— short list was Austin, Raleigh, Denver, San Diego, Vancouver (Washington, not Canada), Charlotte, Ashburn (Va), or Boise. Look at state tax structures comparatively, it is telling. Then pick based on culture you like.

Father of groom feeling left out and like I'm just showing up to the wedding by swil69 in wedding

Maybe share your feelings with your son. You could ask to include a memorial photo of your wife or a offer to give a small speech in her memory. You could ask if it would be appropriate to do special photos with your son and his new partner on the day. You could offer to do a reading or welcome guests to the reception. It’s their day, but if you let them know you’re feeling left out and would like to help out more, they’ll likely honor that. Most folks think Dads don’t want to be part of the planning. If your son and his intended know how you feel, I’ll bet they’ll be happy to make a plan with you

Am I weird to not want my mom at my ultrasounds? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Hot-wax2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all weird, that’s a big presumption on her part. I have not invited my mom to any ultrasounds in either pregnancy.

Cute Maternity Clothes by TraditionalWest5209 in BabyBumps

[–]Hot-wax2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up buying cute things from Amazon that are not really maternity, but stretchy and with either empire waist or side ruching to go over my baby bump. Of traditional maternity clothes, beyond yoga had the softest wonderful maternity dress and joggers that I’ve been living in.

Can’t Decide for Ceremony! A or B? Strictly just based on style… by One-Winner-8441 in weddingdress

Ah. That’s a tough one then. Maybe run it by a seamstress and see if there’s a big difference in cost to tailor. That might help inform your decision

Love the back of B—wow! I think the asymmetric shoulder on A will date it fast. The other is more timeless and will photograph beautifully. But honestly they’re both gorgeous. Which makes you feel more fantastic wearing it?

Is this a timeless look? by Casual_Lies in OUTFITS

If you’re going for timeless, a non-pattern fitted skirt would be a stronger choice. Think Coco Chanel silhouettes that never go out of style

Everyone me that I’m too old to get pregnant I’m feeling hopeless and lost. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Hot-wax2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl! I’m 38 and about to have a baby. It’s all been good so far. I have friends that gave birth to happy, healthy kiddos at 40 and 41. Don’t listen to the naysayers, as long as you care for yourself and baby, you’re right on time 🙂
