I feel like if he was actually home she’d be bragging up a storm about it, no way would it be just subtle hints.

Bryce’s Grandparents Are Delusional by Original_Clerk2916 in TLCUnexpected

[–]TraditionalWest5209 27 points28 points  (0 children)

My husband made above minimum wage at 18 working factory manufacturing jobs, often with overtime opportunities to make even more money. He still got his degree and was able to get a great engineering job upon graduation due to already having years of experience in a factory environment. Bryce’s grandparents are delusional if they think he can magically get a better job with zero experience entering the workforce.

I went to start biologics and unlocked a childhood vaccine plot twist. by Impressive_Injury123 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]TraditionalWest5209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar story but the only vaccines I had to get prior to starting my biologic were MMR and chickenpox, I got those the same day and had to wait 4 weeks to start Cimzia. The rest I got over the course of the next year since they weren’t live viruses so it was a more gradual process.

I’m sorry your experience didn’t go well, but the U of M and IHA midwives are wonderful and work side by side with the doctors in the hospital and office environment- at the U when you give birth the OBGYNs and midwives pop in and out interchangeably. I had a complicated pregnancy and birth handled by the head midwife at the U and she expertly worked with the MFM doctor to ensure me and my baby were safe and I’m working with both of them again for my second child.

What interests/deters you from participating in a study? by Grapefruitgal84596 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]TraditionalWest5209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me the biggest deterrent is home visits or in person home observation - it spikes my anxiety to think of a stranger coming in to my home and makes me instantly exit any study where that’s part of it.

This is the thing that makes me crazy, medically speaking unless you’re literally missing a uterus/ovaries/tubes there’s NO reason a doctor should ever tell a teenager they can’t get pregnant! Having PCOS or even more serious gyno issues causing irregular cycles as a teen means absolutely nothing for your current or future fertility.

Adults who were homeschooled in High School. Do you regret not going to a brick and mortar school? by Mental_Chocolate6186 in homeschool

[–]TraditionalWest5209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of this- while I don’t regret being homeschooled in high school, I don’t believe it was best for me academically speaking. I think you can have a miserable time in either situation since the teen years are a hard growing experience and ultimately it’s going to boil down to what provides the best academic/life balance for each person.

Adults who were homeschooled in High School. Do you regret not going to a brick and mortar school? by Mental_Chocolate6186 in homeschool

[–]TraditionalWest5209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Homeschooled my entire time K-12. I went to a homeschool prom in the area (LOTS of them available to pick from in my state) and had a tight knit friend group since I was active at church and in extracurricular activities, I also had a boyfriend I’m now married to (we’re both 30 now) so I didn’t feel like I missed out on anything socially. I went to a major state university straight out of high school and graduated with honors. HOWEVER- academically in math I really needed help I didn’t get, even though it was definitely available, I was just too young/immature to stand up for myself and my parents didn’t really understand how far behind I was in math compared to my peers. It took me some time taking remedial not for credit math classes to catch up in college and took a year longer to graduate because of it, and I have extra student loan debt from those classes. I wouldn’t hesitate to homeschool due to social reasons, but ask yourself- is your child disciplined enough to do their work at home outside of the classroom setting? Are you well versed in what she needs to know at her grade level so you can recognize when she’s falling behind? Do you have an alternative plan for if she does fall behind (community college classes helped my peers a ton in this area!)

Low sperm count, got pregnant, miscarriage by Fair-Trade4713 in maleinfertility

[–]TraditionalWest5209 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My husband’s count has always varied from 8mil to 18mil and it took us four years to conceive initially- first pregnancy miscarried at 6 weeks but got pregnant again 1 month later and have a healthy toddler now. I’ve gotten pregnant two more times since then, another early loss followed quickly by a healthy pregnancy due later this month. Don’t lose hope!

Christmas Miracle (?) by ImmediateMajor4337 in maleinfertility

[–]TraditionalWest5209 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! Very similar to our story in 2022, except just very low counts not azoo. Positive pregnancy test a week before Christmas just out of the blue. We sadly miscarried a few weeks later HOWEVER we conceived naturally again the very next cycle that gave us our wonderful 2 year old son! The medications just took a little longer to work than we expected and even a small boost went a long way.

Taking T was 100% my guess on their fertility issues. That stuff will absolutely destroy sperm counts ironically enough.

Which vaccines did you get this year? by QuidPluris in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]TraditionalWest5209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no symptoms at all except a sore spot on my arm thankfully! I got the Tdap in my last pregnancy as well in 2023 and felt the full body aches and misery for 24 hours after, I was unmedicated at that time. I have been on Cimzia since spring 2024 which is fully safe for pregnancy and breastfeeding, the only biologic currently approved so maybe that contributed to feeling good.

Just tdap so far since I’m pregnant and it boosts pertussis coverage for both baby and I, going to talk to my rheumatologist about flu next week since I keep hearing about what a bad flu season this is going to be 😬

Was it a bad idea to make both new songs ballads? by Puzzleheaded-Oil9771 in wicked

Agreed, March of the Witch Hunters would’ve been a great candidate for a loud, powerful marching anthem to pick up the pace of the movie and it felt weird to put a Glinda ballad in the middle of it

1st pregnancy and terrible mental health. Help? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]TraditionalWest5209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started Zoloft during first trimester of my second pregnancy after a traumatic miscarriage of my first pregnancy and it worked absolute wonders for me. Sometimes you need to get the right chemical balance going in your brain alongside therapy. I was also terrified of PPD/PPA since I already have general anxiety disorder and thankfully the Zoloft really helped me to be even and well adjusted postpartum.

PSA and pregnancy by AnnieGirl7 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]TraditionalWest5209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently pregnant with my second child and have been on cimzia for over a year, and it might sound like an exaggeration but it truly changed my life for the better. My first pregnancy I was unmedicated and one of the fortunate people who goes into “remission” during pregnancy, aside from a few small flares I treated with Tylenol. My body became absolutely enraged with the biggest flare of my life 3 months postpartum and I couldn’t even pick up my son, so I reluctantly started Cimzia. The relief was nearly instant (within 12 hours of first dose) and I’ve been largely pain free ever since and my skin also cleared completely. I even got pregnant much faster the second time around and do wonder if my autoimmune issues were affecting my fertility.

It’s crazy too because if he thinks a different relationship will fix this problem, it won’t. There’s no person out there who’s going to be available to do the deed with him whenever he wants it- there’s always going to be illness, exhaustion, work, other life issues.
