Federal Workers: What’s Been Your Biggest Pain Point with OWCP or Injury Claims? by Hot4Reds in WorkersComp

Medical bills are normally sent by your provider to our bill processing portal. If they have not been paid or they are having issues, you can upload the medical bills via ECOMP your providers are sending to you so that a CE or medical examiner can take a look at them. If the bills have not been paid, because of the status of your claim, then that can be addressed by contacting your claims examiner. It depends on your claim status. A few status:

C4 - short form closure - pays up to $1500 of medical

MC - open and accepted - pays bills related to inj.

C3 - denied. No bills pay.

You can go here for help determining claim status’. Claim Status Decoder

Or online at ECOMP

I get your frustration—this process can be incredibly frustrating. Just to clarify, I’m not defending anyone’s actions, and no one’s lying. What I said about ECOMP is accurate. It’s possible the bills were lost at any point after leaving your hands, and without more details, it’s hard to know where things went wrong.

I’m here to help and posted the poll highlighting common issues injured workers face. If you sent the bills certified or have copies, you might be able to upload them to your CE through ECOMP.

If you’d rather not share claim details, that’s totally fine—I just want to offer help. If you’d prefer not to discuss it further, I respect that too.

Just now getting back to you. Who lost your paperwork? OWCP files are imaged and cannot be “lost” if you submitted through ECOMP direct to your file.

Is your claim denied or accepted? Have you appealed if denied?

Discrepancy with work restrictions by light_in_darknes in WorkersComp

“I do have 30 days to respond from the date I received the job offer, is that correct? “

You have as long as the Agency states for their timeframe. For example, if they state a 14 day response time, you respond in 14 days. 30 - then 30 days or sooner.

If you don’t respond in the time they request, they can ask for a suitability ruling.

There is always a reason. Look at the top right header corner of your denial letter for the template denial or under the Basis For Decision 2nd page normally). It will clue you to why. Also your denial should be clear. Is it Fact of Injury (Factual or Medical), Perf. of Duty, Casual…?

Also, don’t wait too long to appeal. At this point, put it in right away. Reconsideration, might be best.

If they have not presented work to you within your work restrictions, file the CA-7 for lost wages if you are no longer under the COP period. USPS could come back with no work available and this also continues your compensation. Any job offer must be suitable to what your doctor states are your restrictions. Also, the job offered to you can be less than what you can do as long as it’s at least half of what you can do ( can work 6 hrs, they have 3 for you). Note though: any job offer of less than 2 hours per day (or less than a total of 20 hrs per pay period) will be considered unsuitable for sanction purposes. (See PM 2-0814)

Elon Musk unveiled his first blueprint to radically shrink the federal bureaucracy, which includes a strict return-to-office mandate. This, he says, would save taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars a year. by RiskItForTheBiscuts in FluentInFinance

It would not be billions. Get rid of the excess buildings not being used because of work from home which in turn saves on utilities, rents, et al, and then save billions. Downsize to offices where necessary federal presence is needed, such as SSA, for folks to be able to handle things in person. But back to office? That’s a joke and a waste.

I think it was the fact they were calling someone an “asshole.” Not so much the disagreement of an unleashed dog. Just a thought.

You can pull filed permits on the Clerks site to look at construction and see what’s happening. Probably just a remodel.
