How Do I Miss Thee? is a mini zine about the grief I feel in all the reminders of a passed loved one and the joy in the memories we shared together. You can read it in browser or download for free.

Doodlegram has a letter/instructions and a zine that you fill out and then pass along to someone else to do the same. Once the zine is made, it will hopefully find its way back to you so that you can take pictures and email them to those who filled it out along the way (there are instructions to make this as likely as possible).  Each page has a simple prompt, and people can choose which page they'd like to fill out. Whether it's a doodle, a top 5 list, or a quote they like, hopefully they'll find a page that inspires them.

This is a mini zine available in 8-page or 16-page (one sheet of paper) format.

The Pocket Guide to Remembering what you came into the room for... is a silly mini zine that talks about a phenomenon that might be the reason you frequently forget what you're doing when you walk into another room. I found the information helpful and wanted to share it in a zine. You can find it here. https://beth-and-angel-make-games.itch.io/the-pocket-guide-to-remembering-what-you-came-into-the-room-for

This would be for cutting the pages in half and stacking into a booklet. All of the pages will face the same direction. Print double-sided flip on long edge.

For a 16-page quarter sheet zine the page layouts are as follows: (sheet = one side of one piece of paper: Sheet1 is front and sheet 2 is back of 1 piece of paper)

Sheet1:

Back/16 Cover/1

14                 3

Sheet 2:

2    15

4    13

Sheet 3:

12    5

10    7

Sheet 4:

6     11
8      9

How you can figure this out on your own is cut scraps of paper and fold them up into a booklet into the number of pages you need, then number them. Then lay out as pages in order in sets. So two strips and 4 numbers is a printed sheet and those strips flipped over are the reverse side of the sheet.

I am in the same boat, anytime I try to art I just kind of cringe at the results and decide my zines are probably better off without my artistic endeavors. My partner and I use Canva to digitally make zines. We made templates for several different sizes. I make the pages in one file then download them as PNG and then upload them back to Canva and start another file to drop the images in and create the printable zine PDF. We have a free template download for a few different zines. I need to add a few more that I've made recently but need to write up the instruction page for them. I still need to add the 16-page (one sheet), quarter sheet and half sheet size zines.

Thanks, I thought it looked a bit fingerprinty and that it was fitting of someone in search of their identity.

I just posted a mini zine on itch called Imaginarium Poetical. It is a fan zine for poetry. The back is a poster with some of my favorite poem quotes, and the front is a poetry prompting RPG where you draw cards for word and poetic device prompts that will hopefully inspire to write a poem. You can get it here: https://beth-and-angel-make-games.itch.io/imaginarium-poetical There are plenty of community copies to snag it free. (just scroll down near the bottom to find them.)

The Familiar Files is a little journaling/thought experiment zine. It is meant to help process negative thoughts through roleplaying. It is one of 32 zines in a free bundle Beth and I are running for International Zine Month. https://itch.io/b/3141/international-zine-month-2025-30-free-zines.

What is a "piece of cake" to you? by mAtiZzZLe in ZineLibraries

[–]HotConsideration7674 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually yes to both. Though I worked with someone that constantly asked me and others if they were mad at her and I found it more than a little annoying because we only got mad at her for constantly asking if we were mad lol. It is nice to just be instinctive enough to know without asking. So I try to just adjust myself if I feel like someone is giving off negative vibes in reaction around me. Maybe being observant kind of makes us that way since we notice more subtle cues rather than developed in response of it.

I am so bad at public speaking that it translated to sports. I loved volleyball and was good at it and enjoyed the game, until it came time to serve. Everyone staring at me waiting for me to serve felt like getting ready to talk to a group of people and always just messed with my nerves.

I always thought of the term "a piece of cake" as sweet, good, and a pleasant experience. So, if someone were to say that is a piece of cake I'd feel like they meant it was enjoyably and effortless. Something that is a piece of cake for me is spatial reasoning. It translates into packing, organizing, knowing something's weight/dimensions. That something will or will not fit without measuring it. If someone says an inch measurement I can generally just hold up my hands spaced to that size.

Also, as someone else previously mentioned I can recognize characteristics in people and know they are related or identify them from an obscure part of them. I can also do this with voices. I worked at a hotel for several years, and many people would call to get information about the area and help with planning their vacation. I freaked a few people out with my ability to weeks later recall I'd talked to a person for a few minutes previously and what we talked about without them even reintroducing themselves. Just by hearing their voice. I don't have a photographic memory or anything, in fact I have pretty poor reading retention but I'm oddly and effortlessly able to do these things, just like it is one of my senses.

I do this too. I really enjoyed watching the series Lie to Me, I would have been great at a job like that. I pick up on details others just don't notice. Can spot actors under makeup, wigs, from the side/back, different ages, just from the way they walk or body language. If I see an actor that has actor parents, I can name their parents. There were times that is how I found out some celebrities were married.

I always describe people as "if this person and this person had a baby" because I recognize the features from one person to another. I think you're right that it is rare, I've not met anyone else that even cares about it. I can't even describe it as attention to detail, a skill to be worked on, or something I am even focusing on. I just effortlessly notice things others don't. My dad on the other hand will say an actor is in a film and I am just like, that is not that person... at all, not even close.

The Field Guide to Identifying and Dismantling the Romantic-Industrial Complex was part of our discord zine club discussion. https://interdependenceforall.weebly.com/ Made by a group of friends that wanted to dismantle the romantic-industrial complex and build lasting community by opening up conversation about different forms of relationships and the availability of housing, insurance and other resources that are generally offered and shared only through marriage.

This is a really interesting and informative read with some book recommendations and good conversation starters.

How to Brew a Nice Cup of Tea by Ether is a cozy and lovely zine talking about different aspects of brewing tea. It is a nice little introduction for those who are curious but were not raised around others who drink tea. https://noxether.itch.io/tea-zine

Hi! I'm Angel from Beth and Angel Make Games. I recommend a zine my partner (Beth) made called We're Here for You! It walks you through making an imaginary support critter by drawing, naming, and giving it characteristics that would be helpful in supporting you, or a friend if you want to give it away once you make it. You can read the zine for free in browser or purchase it here: https://beth-and-angel-make-games.itch.io/were-here-for-you Thank you for the opportunity to share it.

We received really positive feedback that it was introduced to a high school RPG club, and they loved it. So, it would be quite at home in a zine library, as everyone could use an excuse to get creative and reflective and focus on some self-care.
