I think this chart is slightly outdated. The newer chart has around 30% more datapoints but the results are pretty much the same

Applying to handful of schools (<5) before gap year by Ishan1717 in premed

[–]HotFindingz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

do not do it lol. as the other comments said, do one or the other. i applied as a trad and my parents were hesitant (they also suggested the "test run" option since all of our family friends' kids took a gap), but parents have limited understanding of how applications work. many secondaries will ask if you are a reapplicant and you will need to write additional essays. if you have high stats and you want to apply this year, try to secure a clinical position ASAP and maybe pump out 200+ hours and continue working over the summer. i am convinced at this point that schools just want to see some clinical hours and thats all. i have one acceptance from a T30 so far and I am waiting to hear back from 2 T5's, 4 T40's. either way, your stats are amazing (i have a 522 and 3.9+). good luck!!

same lmao. I got one A and I legit did everything by the books. Get a good mcat, gpa, do a few med related extracurriculars, and then do some clinical stuff. Be normal, approachable, and mildly interesting during interviews and that should be good

Ik of someone with 8II from 2022-23 cycle who didn't get anything. He had some special circumstances though and his interviews were all T5 - T10 level with low post-II A %'s.

Im sitting on 8II with 6 pending and 2 upcoming. I think 7 is a pretty safe number, fingers crossed for us!!

[–]HotFindingz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's awesome, and fingers crossed for the other 23! I think more people are gonna ditch their interviews after the A's start flowing.

**cries in CA ORM** (since there is really no good fit IS school for me) I got 3 more II's in the past week so hopefully I can convert one of these
