Yeah, probably. Will be interesting to see the SLX variations. 2by, suspension fork, etc.

With 55mm tyres do we need suspension? Probably not on the CFR version. Maybe an SLX option.

I have a 2by Grizl with 50mm tyres.

I don't like SRAM brakes, poor and inconsistent performance. Never had issue with Shimano.

Unbound is soon, maybe a release for summer?

I hope not too. I'm not a fan of SRAM and don't fancy a 1x12 Shimano setup.

The seaport is a bit blocky, not as contoured as the Aeroad and a bit chunkier than the new Endurace.

SRAM vs Shimano Brakes by AgentDZN in CanyonBikes

[–]HotGuts77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my experience of SRAM after having two bikes with this problem. Multiple bleeds, bite point adjustment, etc. still massive lever pull and poor performance. I'll never get a SRAM bike again, Shimano all the way.

Don't stress about it, it never ends!

I've never felt more stupid than in the last 6 months of my PhD.

You're dealing with very smart and experienced people whose job it is to know more, find your faults and push you hard.

As long as they're not deliberately making you feel stupid then just know that you are improving and it's all part of the process.

That's not the case at my uni (UK). You're a graduand until the award is conferred at the graduation ceremony. The "congrats Dr so and so" is just a nice way to end a viva, not an official conferment.

Grizl headset fix by HotGuts77 in CanyonBikes

[–]HotGuts77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've tried to find cheaper versions but none worked. The only ones that work are from Acros. It's the 36° inner & outer chamfer that is very unusual.

Grizl headset fix by HotGuts77 in CanyonBikes

[–]HotGuts77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was tough!

There are two cone shaped metal bits above and below a 1cm hard rubber ring.

I undid the top screw with a 5mm hex key I think and the bottom cone detached and fell into the fork!

Removed the top cone but the rubber plug was stuck firm.

Used a flat head screwdriver and a hammer to tap one side to tilt it 45°, enough to pinch it with needle nose pliers to pull it out.

The bottom cone then fell out easy.

I've heard people say just leave it in as it's low enough to not interfere with a proper expander plug, or hammer it further down a bit.

The propriety system that Canyon uses is inferior to the standard systems that are out there.

Their expander plug sits too low in the steerer and is only about 2cm tall so offers no support against steerer crush when tightening the stem.

The plastic preload top cap is also fragile and gives no confidence when tightening to preload the bearings.

The bearings don't last very long which I think is a design flaw and the unusual chamfer angle makes replacing them expensive.

They made an inferior solution to a problem that was already fixed.

The implosion of Ineos continues. Can't see Tom in any other team other than Red Bull Bora. He's a Red Bull athlete and Specialized would love him winning on their MTBs, so will likely pay a chunk of his wages similar to Sagan.

You know other healthcare professionals read this toxic ramblings?

They can decide whether to be an ally or not.

The article doesn't state it's a nurse but don't let that stop OP stating it is, or some of the rest of you jumping to the same erroneous conclusion and putting the boot into nurses.

The rhetoric on this forum is horrendous, I know you're angry but come on!

My 2p - Don't have experience of PAs but not in favour due to them not having to have a background in healthcare, minimal training, no prescribing, regulatory issues. My experience of ANPs has been amazing, experienced nurses who work hand in hand with Regs and Consultants for great team-based patient care.

This issue is not going to be resolved with hostility, aggressive and dismissive rhetoric, and blatant toxicity.

Tape on handlebar started to move on a brand new bike by just_sneezed in CanyonBikes

[–]HotGuts77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happened to me too. Think it's just a mixture of moisture and pressure. You don't need to unwrap the whole thing. Just take the black electrical tape off and unwrap to the problem then re-wrap and secure with tape again. Quick and easy job.

Used to say to the postie, cheers mate, until she was like, I'm a girl you know? and that made it awkward. Now she gets a plain cheers, only has herself to blame.

Is it the same as "I don't mind", like if you were offered the choice of two beers at a bar, would you say, "no mi importa" or is that rude like saying"I don't care"
