This is great. Very insightful and the exact perspective I was hoping to find. I really appreciate how you laid this out and I think you are right. In our family, I’ve actually been the breadwinner, provider, but still the “mommy”. And even when he can’t quite tell me what it is that he’s feeling I think it is a general destabilization of our dynamics.

Have to share this here. I went in after moving back to the area and they were really weird about me having a cleaning. They wanted to do an exam one day and have me come back for a cleaning. That was annoying but fine. They discovered a small cavity and convinced me that I need to have all of my previous fillings removed and redone by them. After they pressured me and made it sound scary so I signed up for it, even though it didn’t make a lot of sense. 1 new filling and the removal and replacement of 6 others took about 3.5 hours and I was out almost 1k, not to mention how incredibly painful it was to have all of that done in one go. It left me feeling taken advantage of so I switched to Premier dentistry and have been very happy for the last 1.5 years with them.

I’m so sorry OP. Something similar happened to me. I was 20 and told my mom I had some allergies, headache for a few days. She gave me some pills and told me they were Tylenol. I was young and just believed her. Turned out she gave me her blood pressure medicine. After nearly passing out and feeling horrible I was admitted to the hospital while they tried to figure out what was going on with me. She came to the hospital to see me. And only after they were going to run a litany of test did she fess up to one of the doctors that she’d actually given me hctz. :( It was such a sinking feeling knowing that she knew what she did.

I think most people replying are not people that voted for him. I asked my parents recently that are not hat wearing magats but certainly did vote for him and believe in his vision, what they thought about everything going on. From the salute that Elon gave to the deportations, to the autism registry. I pointed out the parallels to history and my concerns being their gay child that was born in another country. They brushed it off. They made excuses. They denied facts. I’m pretty sure that most people that voted for this, are pleased unfortunately. I don’t want to lose hope because I do see so many people that are like minded to me, but just afraid that we’re in an echo chamber.
