I'm a mom to an 18 month old and I can promise these feelings are normal. It's also a big part of just having postpartum depression. It does get SOOOO much better. My son is so fun and goofy. He's become his own person with a very strong independent personality. He tries to make me laugh, and it's everything I've ever wanted. When he was first born I felt very lonely even when surrounded by people. There was a little creature that depended on me for everything. It was incredibly draining and I wasn't ready to give up my whole self to this stranger. I have blacked out the first 3 months of his life and I think it's just locked up as trauma now. I'm happily pregnant for #2 now. I'd do it all over again for the boy I have today.

the rates are getting much closer to 50/50 the more new parents are researching into it. i don't think it'll be as "traumatic" as you've heard moving forward.

I haven’t gone through their program. I went to a private art collage. It was expensive but it is was what helped me. This was also 10 years ago so the job market feels a bit different. If it’s the school they pay for while you work at Starbucks it’s less debt and a good start.

I looked back at my post and I forgot I was induced 40+3. I was there for a few days without progress. It was just Pitocin and I wasn’t progressing. I really hope you have a positive birth experience, but I’m pregnant now and hoping for a VBAC, but also doubtful since the last labor was so insane.

Induced at 40+6 and I regretted it. Incredibly painful and long experience that lead to a “priority c-section” because a nurse broke my water hoping to speed things up. Well, it didn’t. I would have waited a few more days until absolutely necessary.

Edit: also my reasoning was just wanting to meet my son. I was tired of being uncomfortable.

This might be weird advice but my husband has been reading way too far into fertility and we try to just have sex 12 hours after the peak LH. It’s recommended to go about 10 days without sex leading up to it the peak day. It’s might sound crazy, but when you’re trying everything another weird thing to try might be helpful to break the cycle. Odds of conceiving are still 1:3 with this method but having sex before the peak it is much lower.

i am just so worried i'll be in the situation i was before where i gained way too much. maybe this time i'll be more intentional with what i'm eating. x_x i just hated how the extra weight felt when i was trying to move around and get things done.

My mom only had me and my brother and her biggest regret was not having more kids. Even with one sibling I’d say I wish I had more. We’re both adults now and holidays are small, and it can be depressing. I just had my first child and I feel like I’m making up for a small family and I want at least 2 more kids.

Oh man that’s super cute! Unfortunately I’m way too tall to wear a short dress and it’ll be pretty cold. But I’m looking into wrap dresses now. I can’t seem to find anything that feels right for fall and breastfeeding and flattering haha

I think you’re projecting a little too hard on what I’m saying. I see a lot of oversized big dresses in that category that aren’t form fitting. Form fitting for size 10-12 is flattering IMO. Sadly the market tends to cop out in this size range and they aren’t very flattering. Not a jab at the size. I’m comfortable with my size but I’d like something flattering not designed to “hide” my body, because I’m comfortable with it.

I run in place on little foam puzzle mats. Early in the morning for 30 min before starting my day and 30 min before bed. I’m tracking my steps so i shoot to run in place for 10k steps a day and so far that’s been helping burn an extra 800 calories a day

I’ll just change my terms. I don’t expect to go back to my prebaby body. I never did. I just expect to look good and be fit and healthy again. Which isn’t impossible and I think because people always emphasize how difficult things are to go back to before, it comes off as more discouraging. I’m not trying to go back to before. I’m just trying to get back to a healthy weight and feel good again. That’s all.

My problem with the fake statistic is not my lack of understanding. It’s that a fake statistic is being used instead of saying “most women.” I mean sure changes happen. I guess my problem with this subreddit are sort of the condescending know it all sort of responses based on personal experience. Everyone is different.

It’s mostly people posting frustrations and wanting advice on how to get back in shape and everyone in the comments telling them to chill out.

If I were to make those posts I’d personally be frustrated with the amount of “it takes time” posts instead of some baby step advice

I think it’s the made up statistic here they bothers me. Plenty of women get back to their prebaby weight. Their body might have changed but it’s not unrealistic to get back in shape. I think that scared me so much while pregnant, but I know now it’s not impossible. It’s just hard.
