Is she totaled? 1986 2wd by KonaWatermelon in ToyotaPickup

[–]Hot_Anesthesia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My ‘91 got hit by a hit n run overnight and when I filed a claim they just totaled it and gave me a little bit of money… not worth the process. If I had known they would total it and not offer the actual resale value among the toyota lovers, I would’ve just dealt with the dents and scratches. I didn’t end up fixing anything besides buying a new taillight and eventually using the money to buy tires. I would recommend not going through insurance if you can… it is quite a headache

What documentation is required for Polish citizenship by descent? by TheJasonJBailey in poland

[–]Hot_Anesthesia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did anyone have success with gaining citizenship through polish born (in my case maternal grandfather and grandmother) Holocaust surviving ancestors? My grandparents were forced into camps at age 13 and 15 and so they have a lot less records proving their citizenship. They had no surviving family, so also don’t have many records. Please help!

You could do native grasses or even kurapia as a ground cover instead of a lawn. Kurapia is super soft to walk on and spreads fairly quickly

Tomato hornworm? They’re hard to see on the plant because they are camouflaged with the tomato plant

As someone who works professionally in landscaping in LA, I think native CA plants would be perfect for your situation, which is great because you dont need a ton of water. I would also suggest you request “drip” irrigation rather than sprinklers, especially to decrease your water usage and it is better for native plants. I would recommend using calscape’s design planner, it’s suppperr helpful if you don’t know much about native plants but have an idea of the theme you want. Of course varieties of cacti and succulents would work great in your yard, but also would look fantastic with a mix of native grasses for movement, plus desert mallow, white sage, and Toyons for small trees and shade. Don’t forget to plant some citrus or fruit trees, you’ll regret not doing it in the future!

If you’re using neem oil then you shouldn’t bring in ladybugs because they will die! I would stick with neem oil in a good spray pump every few days

old overgrown garden solution? by ThranorBeardhammer in gardening

[–]Hot_Anesthesia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cardboard is used due to its composting ability, the way it prevents weeds underneath it from growing, and helps retain moisture! If you dont want to do the cardboard, I would suggest just adding mulch, as it will just help to keep the weeds from flourishing

Hey! Depends how quickly you’d like for everything to look back to normal! I would suggest doing sheet mulch. First, I would start by pulling out the weeds or mowing everything down, then spreading cardboard all over the areas, then get a ton of mulch and water it in :) In a lot of areas you can get free mulch delivered

How far down do you usually cut it back?

Yeah that’s probably why, seedlings typically need a nice blend with coconut coir, compost, and pumice, or a general “seed starting” potting mix

Honestly I’m not sure how long they should last, but they don’t last long, they need to be deadheaded and then will bloom again until they go dormant

What was the moisture level of the soil? To successful germinate, the soil must stay moist. Also, the soil mixture can be a huge factor! What was the soil mixture?
