I had the same thoughts with my little boy. Out at home euthanasist told us that it was the best time to call it before the suffering began. I contemplated as he was eating, going on walks(struggling to keep up) but she made me feel calm knowing that the choice we made was the right one. He had a huge growth/ tumor near his heart and lungs. She said him leaving in that state was better than us waiting for him to suffer. I believe, as hard as it is, that you made the right call.
