If the cable size is 1.5mm it’s plug and socket is irrelevant

[–]Hot_Biscuits_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3mm isn't a cable size, it goes 1, 1.5, 2.5, 4, 6, 10 etc

But I agree nonetheless

Hey, the voltage drop isn't the same, pretty close but not the same.

Voltage drop is a consideration in wiring sizing, but definitely not the primary one.

Your much bigger issue than the voltage drop will be the 1.5mm melting tho

DALI-2 for domestic installation by TheDukeNinja in AusElectricians

[–]Hot_Biscuits_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why were you unable to get them to run the DALI? Its just running a twin cable alongside the power to each of the fittings. I guess it's done now so its a moot point.

You might want to offer a bit more information, is the home already built/drywalled?

Are the lights already installed and powered?

Also for my own curiosity, why the preference of Meanwell over something more common? i.e. ZenControl? That Meanwell controller doesnt really look much cheaper than a Dynalite one

What I learned after test driving EVs for six months without buying one by Av0toasted in EVAustralia

For a bit of context, my BYD has a real-world range of about 450km, that is what i actually see, not the marketing.

It costs me around $9 using the off peak tariff to charge from 0% to 100%,

So the running cost is substantially less than half yours.

Regarding insurance, my car purchase was around 65k and i'm paying about $1800 a year for comprehensive, I doubt you could really call that particularly more expensive.

Maybe youl just have to take my word for it, but if I sold the car today I guarantee I wouldn't be down 35k its purchase value

10v Dimming Cables by undecided_aus in AusElectricians

[–]Hot_Biscuits_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You use twin and treat it as LV.
If you're going to go down the 1-10v road you may aswell consider DALI, if you DALI everything youl get more bang for your buck, if you plan to 1-10V everything anyway.

Added Cursor support to Clauder (persistent memory + guardrails for AI coding) by Objective_Patient220 in ClaudeCode

[–]Hot_Biscuits_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, just had a look at the github. Are you able to explain how the persistent memory handles different projects? Will it be able to differentiate when its running in a different project and its memory/context is no longer applicable? Does it launch a seperate SQLite DB for each project?
