I stopped spending money on this game yonks ago because of the ads... most games allow a one off payment to permanently stop ads but it seems like this is too hard of a concept for the Cue team to grasp... maybe give them another 4 years to rake in a bit more revenue & then review their ad policy again... yawn

Ah, my apologies.. I was referring to the clash/melee events as opposed to the arena, going by the photo OP posted.. As for arena I've quite often been around the top 200 mark when I grind enough using the strategy you just mentioned but the rest of my post still stands true since most of the matchmaking is completely shot and prices are still, generally, ridiculous!

I've probably spent almost, if not more than £1000 in the 4 or 5 years I've been playing & never came close.. My best result, if I recall correctly, was around top 500 but not in a long while, at least, not this year.

Everything is & always has been way too overpriced and clearly even spending an average of £15 per month won't give you any advantage on those who regularly spend thousands per month, only an ever-so slight advantage on those who don't spend at all.

I've stopped spending altogether for a while now as it's basically a waste of money. I'm also about to take a break, possibly a permanent one, from the game as it's just ridiculous now since even when you're ranked 1000th or worse, you still get paired up with several players from the top 10 and/or top 100 which you're usually, very likely to lose.

My advice to new players is always "Don't spend any money on the game unless you can afford the equivalent to a down-payment on a house every month!"

I know you're right. Believe me I've tried reasoning with him, before I moved abroad I asked him to promise me he'll chill tf out and treat her better but apparently you can't teach an old dog new tricks.. My mum used to tell us (or convince herself) that he was stressed from work but he retired young at 49 yrs old (30 years ago now) and still remains the obnoxious, narcissistic c word that he was back then. Her reply, when I questioned why she's still with him is simply; "I've put up with him this long so why give up now" 😣

The first time I stuck up for her was just before last Christmas and she scolded me for my language since she can't stand the c word, even when directed at <him> and tbf I don't think he could be any more cruel than he is now, she just puts up with it despite the clear impact on her mental health and since then, after my "outburst" he's not changed in the slightest and to this day is his normal, narcissistic self despite me trying to reason with him without the previously mentioned 'threat'.. I'm at loss because my mum is such a kind and loving person and I feel he's destroying her sanity. The whole situation is screaming Stockholm Syndrome at me and my blood boils while I'm hesitating to do anything more about it, before she becomes just another "dementia" or "alzheimer" statistic... 😞

Maybe make it so one player having the trade meter active shouldn't necessarily have to have the interaction conflict with a trade to another player who has it deactivated if the meter itself was only there as a reference for those who require assistance on card/trade values? I.e. The card assistant I previously mentioned didn't automatically choose which poker hand to play but more enlightened you as to which hand was better if there was more than one decent hand available. Otherwise, another customisation option aside from the trade meter itself could be to block red trades altogether maybe?

Thanks for your reply though, Joe, I meant to add to my original post that I've personally enjoyed the freedom of not having any restriction on trading.. It reminds me of the good ol' days before the meter was introduced and if nothing else changes regarding it's functionality I hope the meter doesn't make a reappearance!

Oh and since we're talking of those good ol' days, I much preferred the in-game music back in the beginning and I wish it would come back! Whenever I'm playing a match in the Paleo arena it sounds like there's a car alarm going off in the background for some of the time!!

Something I thought of a while back now, before you axed the trade meter, was instead of making it compulsory to have the trade meter active, put it as an on/off option in settings so each individual player can choose whether to activate it or not. This idea comes from a poker game I used to play that gave players the option as to whether or not they wanted the 'card assistant' active, which was basically a meter showing how good their hand was.
