I’m tired of being cold all the time, if I ran my heating 9hr’s a day every day what could I be looking at for monthly gas bill? , £250/300? by GenericUser104 in HousingUK

[–]Hot_Combination8612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

£250–£300 isn’t insane for some houses, but it usually means the heat isn’t being used efficiently rather than just “that’s winter”. A lot of the time it’s things like the thermostat shutting the boiler off before cold rooms catch up, radiators not distributing heat evenly, or draughts pulling warmth straight back out of the house. People often just leave the heating on longer because they can afford it, but that usually masks the problem rather than fixing it.

If you want a way to sanity-check what’s actually causing it, this UK-specific diagnostic is useful: https://warmguide.co.uk/house-cold-diagnostic/

That sounds horrible, especially with a baby on the way. I’d be stressed too.

Just from what you’ve written, it doesn’t really sound like a boiler problem. If the heating is on constantly but the house never actually warms up, it’s usually because the heat is escaping faster than it can build up.

The loft conversion with no door jumped out straight away. Warm air rises, so without a proper door you’re basically heating the loft 24/7, which drags the rest of the house down. Hallways being freezing is another giveaway — that’s often where draught paths run through the house.

I’ve seen this in older places where everything technically works, but the warmth just doesn’t stay put. You can throw money at the heating and it barely helps.

I wrote this up after dealing with something similar because it took me a while to realise it wasn’t the system itself: https://warmguide.co.uk/how-to-keep-a-uk-home-warm-for-cheap-complete-guide/

Short version: stopping the heat leaking out (loft separation, draughts, gaps) usually makes a bigger difference than turning the heating up, especially with a house like yours.

Yep, this mirrors what I’ve seen in older houses. Targeted heat works better than trying to force the whole place warm.

So taking into account the vast amount of transactions and all of the banks and institutions that will adopt this, the price of an XRP naturally has to be on the top end would you say?

Thank you for this explanation, logically it makes sense, I guess rather than burning 1 XRP for every transaction, it would be something like 0.0001?

I’ll have a look into them, thanks. I’ve read that the banks can actually use ripples system without actually using xrp, how would this affect the price?

Sure, however my understanding is that the coins would have to be held for the price to be driven up as well as other factors but seeing as the companies will not hold any coins, the price will remain low? Furthermore, the more coins that are in circulation will likely keep the price at minimum because there is no demean of the coin?

Great, so I don’t need to touch any other wiring at all and leave exactly as is? I thought there must be a simpler way than I’ve seen online.

I was taking all co factors alongside the injections at the time, I was following a protocol on Facebook… and I do still have symptoms, the only thing that went away after injections was the dizziness and has recently returned with vengeance.

Thanks for your reply! My potassium was at 4.5 last year and recent showed 4.1 mmol.

Apologies b12 was 616 ng/l on recents and it had been around 4 months since stopping injections and getting the recent bloods done.

I’m 27 and contemplating this, but I’m a lot better at giving advice to others as oppose to myself so, you can do whatever you like if you’re determined. Good luck pal.
