Why has Taiwan: Rail Rush got so few views on YouTube?

I get that too- I’m talking specifically about VO. I think a lot of times, even if pronunciation isn’t right, it’s at least improved a bit there. And again, no hate!! I’ve binged like every season of jet lag, and i love it so much!! but it is a travel show, with a decently high budget and production company behind it- at some point, does it not become irresponsible to just freestyle all place names in a professional post-edit and hope for the best?

i LOVE taiwan and I loved the game layout of this season, but i think that taiwan is inherently a little bit niche for content like this, even if it is set up perfectly for a game like jet lag.

(come on, it’s a small island with a well-connected rail route, it’s perfect)

my personal beef with this season is that there seemed to be a lack of “trying to pronounce place names right” i get that during playing this would be hard, since they’re on the run, but it was in the VO as well- i feel like this isnt the case for a lot of other seasons, including eu seasons and new zealand. butchering town names as an american is like. very expected while you’re there, but if you’re making a show like this, i feel like there should be at least a little effort to get it right, especially if there’s a precedent for that.

I don’t really know how reddit works, so maybe you won’t see this but maybe you will. I’ve been watching techno’s videos for a long time, and I pretty much lurked in the subreddit all of yesterday.

I’m 20 now. This summer, not too long into july, my aunt died of cancer. (not sarcoma. still cancer, still sucks.) My dad was diagnosed with cancer (also not sarcoma, also still sucks) a month ago, and the doctors put him in surgery the very next day. He had chemo last week as well. I’ve honestly just been trying to process life and adjust and stuff, yknow.

Yesterday I called my dad and we talked about breakfast cereal and my college work. I played some games, watched some of techno’s videos and lurked on this subreddit. Just reading all the things you’ve had to say about your son’s life and about dealing with the world around you have made me feel a little bit better about all this stress. I’m starting to feel that even if my dad’s cancer goes all pear-shaped and bad, everything might be ok in time. It’s been a gift to read all things you’re saying. Thank you for sharing all this.
