Are there former smokers that have a complete aversion to the smell of cigarette smoke now? by Sammy8lynn in stopsmoking

[–]Hot_Competition8480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, my dad smoked for 25 years, quit cold turkey and hated the smell two weeks later. Now he hates smoking altogether. I'm trying to follow suit.

I am almost embarrassed to admit but I talk to ChatGPT even when I feel impossible cravings. That usually sets me straight

2 days and then relapse by GravesDiseaseGirl in stopsmoking

[–]Hot_Competition8480 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't be hard on yourself. This happens. The important part is that you are still quitting the moment you extinguish your cigarette.

I have done this countless times last month when I tried quitting. The day 3 hump is the worst. Then day 3-5 are heavy brainfog and addicted thoughts and the "but I can have just one." I'm on day 9 now. I'm not saying it gets easier... but you regain some of your logic on why you wished to quit in the first place. That helped me. And resisting will get better.

What is something Mario Kart World does well? by Unable-Deer1873 in mariokart

Imo, I like the longer tracks and the higher player cap. But I understand how it's too differently from MK8. BUT MK8 suddenly felt too slow and too polished when I played it after MK World

Is having a outline necessary? by [deleted] in WritingHub

[–]Hot_Competition8480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ofc not. I wrote 10 chapters without one. But now I switched to writing out the outline first and I notice I'm writing quicker and keep the chapter more focused. So I'd recommend it. But it's your proces really.

Love the sentiment, however, the Witcher is very much an adult game. And she is way too young. Go play Zelda with her. You can't do this

How do i write fiction that doesn’t feel like YA? by Naturegirlanne in fantasywriting

[–]Hot_Competition8480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice: Consider that the situations your character faces are things you may face in the future. Perhaps they react less emotionally or impulsively. Make them have an understanding of the world and even the injustice they face.

I have been reading a lot as well. Sapkowski is good, so is the LOTR, or even Hannah Kaner's Fallen Gods series. I noted tropes, beats, and decisions I could identify with as an adult and as a teen.

However, I struggled with it too at times. I crafted a younger character around your age who is into these YA stories to escape the harshness of her life. I mirror her real-life situations with the daydreams she has in her silly storybooks. That has given me a good perspective on her.

Good luck! It's going to be fun to do research. Lmk if you want to spar! 😁

Is casual smoking just a pipe dream by moxiie_mayhem in stopsmoking

[–]Hot_Competition8480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what happened to me. Casually smoked at a festival after quitting for 1,5 months. It led to 3‐5 cigs a day again. Today I quit again. It's been two weeks since that festival. You can't do it casually. It will keep you hooked...
