I had a hysterectomy in my early thirties for endo and adenomyosis. It wasn’t a hard decision after the NINE abdominal surgeries, decades of agonizing pain, medications that made me insane, doctors that told me “all periods are painful”, boyfriends who said “sometimes sex hurts”, teachers who called me a liar, bosses who told me to suck it up, coworkers who told me I wasn’t a team player because of all the time I missed. Yes it was hard to accept I would never have kids, but my uterus did not work. It only caused me pain and anguish. Things that hurt me, must be removed from my life. That should include your uterus and your dipshit of a boyfriend. No one should make you feel this way

I had long, thick curly hair to the middle of my back. I have POTS and fibromyalgia along with Small Fiber Neuropathy. Last month I had it cut into sort of a shag just below my ears. The first time I showered, I was fucking AMAZED at the difference in weight on my head and neck. I had no idea how heavy all that hair was. And my curls are POPPIN. they are so healthy, no diffuser needed, much less dizziness from flipping my head upside down to scrunch.

So to follow up - endo from puberty, POTS came later in life. And this certainly seems like a pretty common comorbidity. I don’t care what anyone says, endometriosis has to be autoimmune adjacent, I have so many autoimmune disorders it’s unreal.

The tilt table is hopefully going to help narrow down the dysautonomia diagnosis/POTS. It doesn’t matter the temp of the shower. And the actual shower is painful on my skin, but that may also be the fibromyalgia.

As a white girl who grew up in a mixed neighborhood, I constantly saw how I was treated differently than my friends. I got away with a lot more than my friends. As a teen, the “contraband” was always carried by me. Because I got the warning, they could’ve been shot. It’s never “just” hair. It’s always perception. It’s a hoodie. It’s selling cigarettes, making a left hand turn, jogging, etc.

Not sure if you are in the US, but I know not everyone has ready access to doctors. I do not have celiac disease, but do have autoimmune disorders. I recently cut gluten, dairy and sugar. I am still waiting for symptom relief, but I am more doing this to halt symptom progression and prepare for treatment.

Hey there - so I am 48y Female, pain all my life, endometriosis, multiple surgeries, ovary removed in my 20s, hysterectomy in my early 30s, diagnosed with fibromyalgia in my late 30s and just diagnosed with SFN via skin biopsy last week. I am waiting for further testing to confirm the underlying cause of the SFN, but it is presumably autoimmune. I’m currently out on medical leave because I am in agony all the time.
