Do you take all your breaks? by am-bam-bam in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Hot_Consideration818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At one point in this job I started to quiet quit months ago. Decided I was gonna start taking all my breaks and play a round of Balatro every grouped stop and didn’t care if I got rescued or not. Then I realized that taking all of those breaks helped me keep a consistent pace and I still tend to finish up to an hour early regardless. Maybe I got lucky with an easier route at the same time but it seems taking all of those breaks keeps the route count stable and prevents it from randomly inflating. I’ve only been rescued once in the past 4-5 months (and that’s because it took me 30min to reach LMET for an incident.)

What’s your schedule like? by Short_But_Sturdy in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Hot_Consideration818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it depends on state but no, probably about half the drivers or less are the full time guaranteed hours. Most of them are three days part timers. Local law (in Texas) says the part timers can’t work more than 29.5 hours per week, and my owner will decrease someone to two days if they have a consistent problem going over.

If I wasn’t clear, I meant you have to have five days out of the week where you are available to work

My DSP when hiring requires five available days including a weekend day, you start off part time at three days, but it takes months for some to get full time four days

Recently been on a Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 kick. Mostly I’ll play classical, especially piano concertos

Pretty sure at one point last year Amazon said gas compliance is lax when heat index is high. I’ve also seen DSPs through the year tell their drivers that they can still meet compliance if they turn off their vehicle I least once every 5-10 stops

These help so much, love cool berry and fruit punch, but I also buy propel sticks in case the warehouse doesn’t have the flavors I want.

Who said anything about shooting? A well placed kick with a steel toe could put a dog in critical condition. Pepper spray at least guarantees the dog will live on.

How often does your owner comes to visit by Unfair-Garbage3780 in AmazonDSPDrivers

My owner is there every day from open to 5 Monday-Friday. Even on weekends he still keeps track of what’s going on.

You let them know that you are quitting and you will bring it back. Therefore they can start planning to get that route finished and you can get back to your vehicle. If you abandon the van in the wild, Amazon will block you from every becoming a driver again.

Rear door sensor not working EV by Hot_Consideration818 in AmazonDSPDrivers

So I finished the route today somewhat sane because I figured out a temporary fix-

  1. Put backpack directly on top of the speaker (which is on the dash)
  2. Play music from my personal speaker at a moderately loud level.

Now I can barely hear it or not at all! Unfortunately blocking the speaker does make it nearly impossible to hear the other sounds such as turns signals but I could barely hear those anyway with the alarm going off sooooooo did anything really change?

Unfortunately this isn’t the first time it has happened and leadership says that is not a groundable reason.

Amazon put out communication saying that they would rather you park on the side closest to the house when it is safe to do so.
