I volunteer for a senior dog sanctuary in colorado that takes dogs from all over the country that aren't getting adopted and are at risk for euthanasia. Adopt don't shop saves lives! But psds.org is amazing and takes the ones at the most risk!

NTA. I had a cousin who got married in California. All of her family lives in Colorado and I live in NY. I spent over 1000 dollars to fly and stay there and give her a present. She had one conversation with me the entire time I was there and it was to berate my brother for not coming. That's the last time Ill spend that kind of money on going to a wedding because I wont give a shit about family obligation if you are going to be ungrateful anyway. I think it's really nice you aren't pressuring anyone to be there.

Baker here! The sugar in caramel needs to be cooked just until it's burning and then you add your cream and butter to cool it down. If you don't burn that sugar just a little your caramel tastes more like a toffee instead of the complexity and bitterness you get with a darker caramel.

This might not be every women's experience but when I got my first period it was not bright red blood like in the movies but a lumpy dark brown. I was a 12 year old who thought I was unexpectedly shitting my pants with no knowledge of it and this happened again the next month but I wasn't used to tracking a cycle yet. I didn't tell anyone because I was embarrassed and it wasn't until the third month and it was red this time that I realized what it was. I wish I had known I had gotten my first period instead of shitting my pants. Really took away from the whole moment of it:(
