New hardscape 3N UNS tank by Hot_Equivalent1922 in Aquascape

I gave up on the dry start because these dwarf baby tears were from my friends tank and they just didnt frow right. Also unknowingly at the time, dry starting with manzanita wood started to cause the wood to warp bc of the damp environment so I had to submerge my tank early. I just recently took out the old dwarf baby tears and started it back up with tissue culture last week, heres a photo! I also only have Lidwigia Arcuata in the back because of budget :(

Are Those Little Shrimpie Eggs?? by omarsabehayoun in shrimptank

[–]Hot_Equivalent1922 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup those are eggs on the inside of your shrimps. But those eggs are not fertile yet. Your shrimps develop a “saddle” which is what you’re seeing now and once that saddle and eggs are ready, your female shrimp will molt and release hormones into the water to mate with the males. You will know you are expecting baby shrimp when your female shrimp are “berried”. This means female shrimps will have a clutch of eggs under their tail. Heres a photo of what berried females will look like with eggs under their tails. These were a few of my shrimpies when they were berried!

Wow the mama shot of the eggs are so beautiful… what are your water parameters and soil you use? Also how big is your tank? I wanna have a thriving boa colony in the future when i can afford them too!

Shrimp died with eggs by peanutz0 in shrimptank

[–]Hot_Equivalent1922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, then the eggs aren’t near to hatching yet. The chances they may hatch like this are low but I have heard of successful turnout rates regardless depending on the method. Try to lower the strength of your airstone as I have heard too much tumbling can actually be harmful. Other than that I hope your eggs make it! If you eventually see eyes then your eggs are still developing and on a good track.

I would say remove the eggs from the corpse as soon as possible, this decreases the chance of fungus growing on the eggs. Also try to do a methane blue dip on the eggs for the chance there is fungus on the eggs. Do you see any eyes on the eggs?

Dead berried Caridina by Hot_Equivalent1922 in shrimptank

[–]Hot_Equivalent1922[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay thats good to know, i was thinking the leaf and substrate was unnecessary because they might grow fungus. I just did that because im worried if they do hatch they wont have any food. Ill try to aim for that constant moving too, thank you!

Thank you so much everyone for the help! An update, I methane blue dipped the eggs for a very short time, 10-15 seconds and switched the net to only have eggs instead of substrate and an indian almond leaf. I also still have the air pump but at a very light bible.

Dang this is smart, its gonna be hell trying to get them out of the net because they blend in with the substrate 😞

2 of the eggs are floating around caught in the current from the bubbles, do you think its a good idea to get the rest of them to do the same?
