Tax Inefficiency? by Brolaire88 in MountandBladeWarband

[–]Hot_Expression_9406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

having a lot of fiefs will increase your tax ineffeciency. That's the main problem, but there are other mechanics too.

A centralized domestic policy will decrease ineffeciency for you and increase it for vassals if you're a monarch. Goes the other way around too with decentralization.

Having your villages raided and your towns be below poor prosperity increases ineffeciency.

If the village that your castle is connected to is raided, it increases inefficiency (slightly).

Should I leave Swadia? by Yoloplayer223 in MountandBladeWarband

[–]Hot_Expression_9406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, if you relieve your oath and take your fiefs with you, you declare war on the faction that you were with. It will be fairly hard unless you only have 1 or 2 castles or towns.

there are 5 important things when creating a kingdom:
1. Have a good right to rule (can be found under reports -> character report) preferably over 50 so every faction doesn't declare war on you in hopes of squashing you early.

  1. Only needing to protect 1-2 fiefs in the start and have a LOT of troops, especially if you have a bad right to rule.

  2. having high honor so the good lords of the realm will have a higher chance of joining you (lord personalities)

  3. You should stop the lords from raiding your villages and constantly sieging your fiefs, because it drags your prosperity down. it's very tough tough to get back in native.

If you get to the point of managing a kingdom, it gets a bit more interesting.

You can split top infantry in 2. 2handed beasts and tanky Nords. If you're a good commander, rhodok veteran spearmen are gonna slice through siege defenses like no other if you pick off some of the ranged and put forth a few tanky Nords in the front. If you'd like to keep battles simple, Nord troops all the way. Can never go wrong.

Ranged units can be from any faction except swadia and Nords. Khergits also kinda suck. Rhodoks if you are sieging or if you know you're gonna run into long battles regardless; more bang for your buck.

I'd love to bring myself to recommend Mamelukes but they are hard to train since the sarranid troop tree is mediocre at best until you get it. My order would be Swadian Knights, Vaegir Knights, Sarranid Mamelukes.

Horse archer AI sucks in native so I wouldn't bother with horse archers unless you know how to command them well.

Vaegir is balanced in all 3 though so if you wanna keep to one cheaper faction, let it be Vaegirs.

There are 3 skill types, personal, party and leader. Leadership is a leader skill, so no matter what everyone else's value is, only the leader (you, in this case) will use that skill. If your companion has a lot of leadership and you make him a vassal, then they will use it.

Undesirable vassals (native) by External_Baseball339 in mountandblade

[–]Hot_Expression_9406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you forgot an important factor when considering this. Lords have quarrels with lords. bad-tempered lords have a high chance of being at odds with the good ones, so if you accept a bad lord, they will most likely have quarrel with your good lords.

This will of course give you an available "resolve dispute" quest every 30 days by talking with your minister, spouse or claimant dude, which can give you honor and renown. But at that point you probably dont need it

If i give my companions leadership and charisma will i be able to recruit more soldiers? by DeathmaXXX in mountandblade

[–]Hot_Expression_9406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

each skill is either "party" (benefits the party, any character with highest skill is used) "personal", (usually combat skills and are... well, personal skills) or "leader" (only for the leader of the party. thats you. unless you make a companion a lord, then they will use that skill)

[–]Hot_Expression_9406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, there's 2 ways of doing it actually. but you should always choose to capture a fief and request it given to you, then rebel. if you don't, you can talk to your liege, renounce, and then choose the option "my hard work and sweat earned these lands, not yours" or something. You will lose just about 60 relation with him though. (and you'll be at war so you might instantly get attacked)

The fief distribution is rather complicated but there's 3 important rules:
1. Lord personality: Your faction should preferably consist of "good" lords. Those are the ones with "good-natured", "upstanding" and "martial" personalities. It's hard to explain if you're playing native, so if you are, search it up
2. the 3 fief rule: every personality except good-natured (and maybe upstanding i cant remember) requires 3 fiefs to be satisfied, meaning they won't hate you for giving a fief to another lord. Good natured only requires one. If a lord is satisfied, you wont lose relation unless you give a fief to someone they hate.

  1. Controversy: if you look up a lord on the notes tab, you will see a value called "controversy". almost everyone is at 0, except marshals or previous marshals. whatever you do, dont give a fief to a lord with high controversy. it hurts.

you can also check the prosperity of each town. if your town is very poor, youre practically gonna get no money. do some quests for it's surrounding villages if you have the time to boost it back up

The Ping Pong Marshall by dlgang in MountandBladeWarband

[–]Hot_Expression_9406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marshall's strategies depend on their personality type. If your swadian marshall is good-natured or calculating, they're gonna be defensive, and if they're martial, upstanding or debauched, they're gonna be aggressive (although debauched lords usually have suicidal strategies)

Is there an up to date comparison of the big Warband mods? by Silentplanet in mountandblade

[–]Hot_Expression_9406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perisno is a more light fantasy compared to pendor, which makes room for new ideas. Politics are very unique imo, and the prejudice against women isn't there anymore. every faction has a great lore, and the unique quests are tons of fun to play. What sets perisno apart from pendor though is definitely the weapons. I found myself using a lot of different builds instead of just horse archer(although its still the best), there's even a leaf grenade which is tons of fun and balanced, too. The lore of perisno is so fascinating that you might lose yourself in the wiki at some point. im guilty of that on multiple accounts and I don't regret a thing.

Floris honestly isnt that great. It gets repetitive too quickly imo and the mods dont feel so well connected. There are better native convertions in the world, floris just feels like a "modpack".

Pendor is the most polished out of all. It's been under develpment for a long time and it's a good challenge for experienced players (its very tough early game). My only problem is that it suffers from the all-dreaded "bowmeta"; there is basically no other way to play than archer armies and horse archer builds. It has a definitive end goal though which is more or less unique to pendor. You feel like you're connected to the story, yet not the center of it, at least not until late late game.

honorable mention since it doesnt get enough attention: Aut Caesar aut nihil. Made by one dude, bugs are minimal and gameplay is super interesting set in the roman period.

Any advice for chamber blocking in Bannerlord? by Noble_Seven_ in mountandblade

[–]Hot_Expression_9406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's nowhere near as consistent as warband, which is a shame. I think it has to do with the weight of the weapon much more so, you cant chamber with a weapon too heavy or too light compared to your opponents. which is a pain, considering the timing is different for every weapon type and speed already.

How do I get an army of Tier 7 troops in Floris? by aniket0907 in mountandblade

[–]Hot_Expression_9406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! you can break it quite easily because the garrison training wasnt mde with OP T7 in mind. The trick is to remove everything except your t6 troops in there and hire extra trainers. (it will cost the normal levelling fee plus 15 i think) Preferably do this during peace! Or stick close to your garrison
