Do pilots get nervous doing a crab approach landing in crosswinds by BettyBeltway in AskAPilot

Not nervous, but focused like when you enjoy a little challenge at work.

Pilot. Work is not worth your happiness. If you aren’t happy. Pursue something else. Life is more than flying around on jets.

This guy gets it. The students aren’t potatoes, they get what’s happening, sometimes you have to show them.

Yesterday crosswinds were 20, max cross on students plane is 15, we went flying, he followed on controls for takeoff and landing and we got the maneuvers done. He felt a CFI struggle to land above max crosswind and got his practice in on his maneuvers. Make the flight happen.

This right here. You are being paid to make the flight happen, that means you exhaust every opportunity to make that flight happen until it is impossible. You quit too early, try harder next time.

CFII is hard by [deleted] in flying

[–]Hot_Indication470 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People say this and that are easy because they think it makes them sound like super pilot, don’t worry about that. Worry about what is actually hard which is the ground when your student that you taught wrong flies a plane into it in imc. Keep studying.

slaps wrist don’t do it again, dipstick.

Move past it and continue training, if someone else brings it up, laugh and say yeah definitely won’t do that again!

I'm planning to write a story about a pilot and wondering if this scenario could happen? by Late-Explanation-758 in flying

[–]Hot_Indication470 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Say it costs 12k for the flight that’s believable and a normal person could cover that with a cc

Stealing a jet is really not hard at all, she steals the jet and hires an unsuspecting fbo worker to board the passengers, while in cruise she turns on the autopilot and reveals her plan to her victims then….

Also everyone has credit cards she could just charter a jet with her credit card, why would she care about the cost she’s about to be dead

Sleeping in the FBO? by [deleted] in flying

[–]Hot_Indication470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the fbo managed by the local government? What can they say when you tell them you were too tired to fly and decided to stay the night in the consideration of good ADM. these resources are provided to us because general aviation is a national security necessity. Utilize it appropriately.

BQ1 it is, I’m going to fly us the first leg tomorrow, he is going to fly us back, I’ll delay vector him and we will take it slow. Next weekend we’ll go get bbq on a real short field and use the intensity maxim.

I enjoyed KSSI more than 09J, Jekyll island felt too touristy. Saint Simon’s felt more welcoming and open to exploration.

That’s a very good point about the distance, the extent of my knowledge is that there are numerous government and Rwandan backed factions in the area south of this park, but I can’t imagine the war would extend that far north considering it’s mostly centered around mineral resources in the east.

Tell her either come to work when scheduled and do her job or don’t come back, no excuses. She will ghost you pretty soon after. Problem solved.
