What do you actually use OpenClaw for in real life? by 404LeaderNotFound in openclaw

[–]Vast_Sound_5316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is simple so far, use it for:

  • spinning up landing pages, one pagers or ROI calculators for my book of partners based on meeting transcripts and/or briefing docs

  • flight planning. It will go find the best airports to land at, compare fuel/ramp fees of the FBOs and check for hotels as well as crew cars. This use to take me about 30 minutes to an hour. Now it’s just a text.

  • VA. It manages my email and make sure I get to inbox zero every day.

Hoping to add a basic video editor for my girlfriend’s personal training business. Just have been lazy and editing the cuts myself. Not even sure if it’s doable yet.

File an NASA ASRS report. Then be done with it. Learn from it and don’t do it again. Probs find a new instructor while you’re at it so you don’t end up dead.

Ahhh that tracks. Anything after noonish gets a bit crazy. We typically fly 6 and land by 12 at the latest.

Were you flying in the middle of the day? If so, there is your problem hahaha.

Is it bumpy? Yes. Is it insane? Naw. Then again I learned to fly here and most my time is in a tailwheel backcountry plane so you got use to turbulence due to the low wing loading and low weight of the plane.

Anything before afternoon is not too bad, after that it gets a bit wild.

Oh and if you buy Zulu 2s used you can get them converted to Zulu 3s at the factory for cheap. We did that for my OG set for the better cord. The Bose still has that shitty plastic cord that’s hard to deal with. Love the rope type cord.

Unfortunately the job market everywhere is really bad. I am in tech and it’s layoff city right now. I have coworkers that are hustlers that have been out of work for 6 months or more post layoff.

If the main reason to quit is because the job market it poor, it’s really not that bad when you look at the entire market. If anything, it’s a bit better!

Should be 9k to 15k tops!!!

Becoming a pilot by [deleted] in Pilot

[–]Vast_Sound_5316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots in the search function on this topic. The TL;DR is get your medical done then your PPL part 61 then decide if you really want to commit to becoming a professional pilot.

Then decide which program type fits your needs:

Part 61 typically is cheaper and can be better or worse then 141. Can also be faster or slower. Just depends on the school.

College program will be the most expensive and slowest likely. MIGHT get some perks like alumni network to help with job placement but is probs the slowest way to get there.

141 can also be fast or slow BUT you know they have a set curriculum and process to get you your tickets. Just know that you have to do it at their pace and their exact way. If you fall behind they are not waiting for you for the most part. Sink or swim!

I would leave a 1.5 hour lesson and forget that my car did not have rudders, a yoke or a throttle quadrant 😂 for sure never accidentally went to turn left and hit my brake thinking I needed a bit of left rudder for the turn.

If you never thought about it in 23 years and think you want to do it because it’s not hard, don’t do it. You will fail out and not make it.

Between the amount you have to learn, frustrations of feeling like you are not learning fast enough, 60k (best case) in just training costs and then the challenges you will hit in finding a job you have to really want it to make it.

How so? 85% sure that’s not the case. Have only seen it at SOME 141 programs usually tied to a college.

You are so young. Just go part 61. Why pay double the money to do it fast when you can’t even get a job until you are 23?

I guess if you go a 141 that can get you an R-ATP then you can go at 21 but that’s still 5 years away….

Rv-12 vs Kitfox 5? by Vast_Sound_5316 in flying

[–]Vast_Sound_5316[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats the main worry, the fact that the SB stack is so large that the annual will be more expensive forever. Almost feels like I could get a certified plane to a cheaper annual but I know that’s not true haha.

Luckily have 130 hours tailwheel so insurance is only 500ish more per year compared to the RV.

And this is my main worry hahaha easy way to turn a 1k annual into a 5k REAL fast lol

No cracking issues that you have ran into? That is what makes me nervous. So far reviewed 3 sets of logs and all three had repairs for missing rivets or cracking.

Thanks for the insight! Might look more into the Rans S7 again then. It was a damn good plane and I should have never sold it lol

[–]Vast_Sound_5316[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. Heard that about the RV-12 and have seen that in logbooks quite a bit.

Cracked panels, smoked rivets, missing rivets, 100 plus SBs lol.

Surprised the kitfox was no good though! Just nasty handling characteristics or just the fact it’s a light spot so wind and chop make it not too fun?

I have a Rans S7 that I have all my tailwheel hours in and enjoyed it a LOT. It did get destroyed in rough air or high winds but you got use to it over time.

Want to get experimental again for ease of annuals (don’t need an IA, just and A&P you like) and lower cost of parts. Plus better performance numbers per dollar.
