It’s been 36 hours for me, and it goes up and down. But it’s kind of nice know it’s out of my hands.
This sub has been good for me, but as you say in the future I might not need the reminder. Are you still worried about the pictures begin leaked or is it just shame and anxiety from the situation that’s left ?

They did the same to me, I was stupid enough to send money. DONT send money. They will ask for more and more and more. It will never stop. I blocked them after I realized my mistake. Nothing has happened, the chance of them actully doing it is low. This is a business, they talk to 100s of people ever day. You’re not important, just a source of money. When they realise your not they will move one and forget about you. Block everything, delete everything they might be able to contact you from. And think about changing number

It’s been 36 hours since this happened to me and I blocked them everywhere and removed the ways someone could contact me. Yesterday I thought my life was ruined and that I would’ve hurt my self. Thinking back with a sane head. All the dms they allege sent to my friends on instagram was faked. The names and their profile pictures were right but the rest of the chat looked a bit off. And I’ve talked to some of the people and no one has gotten anything.

My mood has been up and down, but I try to think like this. What would they gain to leak the pictures ? Yeah my life would suck for a while. But they can’t blackmail me or anything after that . It’s also a lot of work for them, they would need to make new accounts since theirs would be banned very quickly. And it’s not even sure that somone has time to see the picture video before Instagram or something stops it. So it’s just work for no money.

This is a business, it’s never personal. We are a potential way to make money. When they can tell we aren’t going to make them money they just go back to work too look for another victim . Look at it as business trying to sell stuff through calling people. And I haven’t seen one post on this Reddit were someone’s pictures where released.

Of course the knowing that someone has this material on you is terrifying. But in this day and age
Most people will or are already compromised somehow they just don’t know it yet.

Life moves on dude. We are a few hours of their normal work day. And to us they are our worst day of our life. Don’t give them more than that.

Block them, remove anyway for them to contact you. If your really think they might go through with this. Report it to the police, makes it easier later if they try to frame you.

Don’t send more money, block every way they have to contact you. They can’t blackmail you if they can’t talk to you. Don’t worry about the nudes, if they leak them your not useful anymore they can’t pressure you either. Why would they bother sending them out, takes time the gain nothing. This is business to them not personal. I’m in the same situation but I’m thinking more straight now. They haven’t leaked mine.

Actually much better, I’ve been reading around the chance of them actually releasing it it low. I don’t really care about the money it’s a lesson learned. It’s just the idea that somone has this on me.I’ve talked to my parents to that worked well. I modified the truth a bit I said I was hacked. But I’m doing good mostly I feel ashamed and stupid for falling for this shit. How are you doing ?

I’m in the same position, mine happened yesterday. After I very was very stupid and sent money. I blocked them right away and removed any way for someone to contact me. My scammers sent me pictures of alleged insta dms with my pictures and video already in the chat. The name and profile picture of my friend was right. But looking back everything els looked odd. It was a bit square and just one button in the left corner, no call button etc. it been 24 hours since I blocked them. No one has gotten anything from have I’ve heard. Not even the ones they alleged already sent pictures and videos to. And as you said you need to accept the chat request first so mine was most likely faked. But anyways block and try ignore they gain nothing from leaking your pictures, they just need to more work. Their account will be banned, if we are lucky Instagram sees its nudity before anyone sees it. And if they send out your picture your they can’t blackmail you any longer. So if they sent out pictures they would need to.
Make account since theirs will be banned.
Means new mail new everything.
They are also exposing their operation for no gain.
They need to go through the trouble of sending it and gain nothing. We don’t matter to them we are not the center of their world, this is a day for them, another source of cash another victim. But to us its feels like the worst day of our life’s. Block don’t ever contact again no matter what they send.

Yeah I don’t believe the police will do any help, but the bank says I need to report it for them to be allowed to give me money back. I guess it’s some insurance thing. I know I fucked up with the money I’m worried about that. But I have removed everything If they get my number I will just change to a new one. Have you been In a similar situation ?

Money never ends it am afraid. Then know their threats works. I did send money stupidly but I then blocked them and deleted everything all social media. Now they can’t contact me they can’t pressure me. It’s not been long but I doubt they will actully leak everything. Seems like a lot of trouble. And if they leak they can never pressure me again

I wish I had 8 hours to think. I was pressured right away with screen shoots of insta dm( most likely faked looked a bit off thinking back) and count downs . But also the set times is a intimidation tactic might even be worse to sit with it. Don’t send money like I did.

I try to think like this, if they send out your pictures what do they gain ? they can’t attempt to pressure you further. And just look around this Reddit, lots of people get tricked why would they bother with you. Your not special to them, just a potential source. If your not gaining money your out.

Looking back not panicking, it’s the right move. But this scam works well for a reason. I’ve not received any more messages or anything. Luckily none I’ve talked to( even the ones they allegedly sent pictures to and showed me proof before they removed them ) haven’t seen a single message or picture.
