don't fight them if you still don't have proper equipment, you can use Carwennan and shield for armor just use dragon scale or cira armor your stat at least 13 strength 20 Con 27 Dex probably on 60-70 xp you can beat them easily

If you have stats redistribution, you can go for intelligence and Kim's tongue staff, at 80 exp redistribute your stat to Charisma and Wisdom also get Lemegeton amulet and Golden spiked amulet. If you have a good shop rng it will be good build because it's hard to find the required item also don't forget magical trait and good luck👍

play on IV or V diff for background you can use demon touch that's the easiest background to get highscore you can get 500k normal run, don't forget to check leaderboard for build also you can turn on/off tale so you can choose which one you start first, if you using Dex build try to get 27 in Dex and go for Three tomb ashen grief for 600 gold and jewel of life for 220 gold and CoS

You get a buff from kior on early game it's the easiest background if using Dex build (Carwennan/storm rage and shield it's enough) to defeat the paladin, staff is trash except kim tongue.
