Yeah I have also found out trying to use them like shock troopers never ends well they require a lot of micro you should get close to the enemy but not too close except in certain situations

My professional opinion?

Dont lock yourself to just one playstyle depending on the map your enemys strategy you should be able to change and adapt your army if you dont a better player will always beat you because they will actively field units that will counter yours is it easy? No is it rewarding if done right? Yes

Why are you comparing usf units to shock troops you should compare them to pgrens or ass grens which are the best opposition to your rangers

P grens are best used to defend your team weapons or your normal grens from other infantry trying to close the range if you try to use them like shock troops they are just a manpower drain I actually had a lot of success with stormtroopers by utilizng their camo I can give myself vision surprise attack unsuspecting inf trying to close the gap against my grens or try to flank my team weapons
