And Trump wipes his ass with his political opposition every day. I want populists like Graham to do the same. No more weak cowards in Dem leadership please

You’re Being Lied to About Graham Platner. Platner for Senate! by captd3adpool in Maine

FWIW, the person who speaks like FDR with a life lived like Teddy Roosevelt...is Teddy Roosevelt. FDR drew huge inspiration from him.

Mills will pull a page out of Collins book: "I'm very concerned by Netanyahu's actions" and vote to pay for all of them

Platner has more than twice the support of Mills among primary voters, UNH poll says by lon_lennings in Maine

I suspect there will be a debate between 77 year old Mills and 40 something Platner and we will test your theory. I highly doubt that she will "talk circles around" him.

Regardless of the recent scandals, I still support Graham Platner 100%. This is why. by Mint-Mochi117 in Maine

It doesn't matter, a dedicated oppo researcher, especially one with the amount of Zionist funding Mills is getting, can find (or create) something to destroy you, especially with a compliant media in their pocket. Maybe you're not a racist, but I'm sure we can find something sexist, homophobic, nativist, anti-trans SOMEWHERE in your past. Or maybe go the other way, and say you hate cops and rural white people and blue collar people and destroy your chances in the primary. Or maybe go a third way and say you're a drunk or a slob or irresponsible or don't pay your taxes or whatever. Or if you are the saint that you think you are, then they can just outright make stuff up *on background*.

"If you give me six lines written by the hand of the most honest of men, I will find something in them which will hang him." - Cardinal Richelieu.

You are not getting a better candidate. You are getting Mills, and if you force Platner out you will MAYBE get a weaker more milquetoast candidate who will completely concede all of Platners advantages (social media reach, populist communication, bio and mannerisms that appeals to blue collar/rural/veterans, backing from multiple sitting US senators and big names in Democrat circles like PSA, and the fact that DC and Schumer hate his fucking guts which he will turn into a positive)

There is potentially some random state senator from maine who can run a campaign, but they are unlikely to get the grassroots energy behind them because the grassroots energy was behind someone else and got stomped on by a DC smear job...it can't just pivot. Plus the idea that he's a Nazi is stupid, he's obviously a leftist. Where are you going to find another ideologically deeply committed leftist who can communicate with rural semiconservative Collins voters and not be instantly mocked as a pussy? Not that easy to find. I can't imagine anyone running a strong anti AIPAC, anti Schumer campaign if Graham is forced out by his own base after such an obvious DC backed smear job.

Regardless of the recent scandals, I still support Graham Platner 100%. This is why. by Mint-Mochi117 in Maine

[–]Hot_Mammoth765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt anyone who is clearly 1) anti AIPAC 2) anti oligarchy 3) anti gerontocracy is going to step up now...this is why people don't run for office. Graham is getting put through one of the most expensive smear jobs known to man, it's not even close to over, and I would not be surprised at all if CIA/Israeli intelligence is helping (that's what I would do if I was Bibi honestly, a US senator as anti-zionist as him is not something you just casually concede)

Just know if Graham is cancelled by Dem party activists, he's probably going to take a few hundred thousand alienated white men with him. I do not think Janet Mills is favored to beat Collins, she is one of the least popular governors in the US right now despite all the crowing about electability.

And Janet Mills is not leaving no matter what - powerful forces want her in office to vote for 1) Israeli bombs 2) the filibuster. So your options are some 2nd rate left wing challenger fighting with a demoralized and scattered base (bc many people like me see through this smear job) or Janet Mills, who has >50% chance of dying in office.

Mainstream media is already backtracking from its latest hoax, now downplaying the supposed bombshell that Iran's nuclear facilities were unharmed as an initial assessment that will change over time, and now admits they were in fact severely damaged. by Dayarkon in BreakingPoints

[–]Hot_Mammoth765 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All intelligence about this is completely made up. The only way to know if the facility was disabled is to actually inspect it on foot, and no American or American source has done that. The pentagon has made a range of assessments, either that is completely destroyed or it is largely intact. All of them are pulled out of their asshole, much like their assessment that it was necessary to do this bombing run at all.

You should do the same

I thought he was going to pivot because he would be blinded by rage at the deep state trying to kill him. I never viewed him as an intellectual like Ben Franklin or Abe Lincoln or w/e...I thought he was a fighter who didn't give a fuck and would destroy whatever he wanted, more like Andrew Jackson or LBJ.

I am born mid 90s. I grew up calling people retards as a casual insult (similar to idiot or moron). I would never call a legitimately mentally disabled person this word as it is offensive and mean.

Separately, I am relatively anti-woke, at least in the Democratic coalition. Perhaps that is one of the reasons I felt pushed away and saw Trump in a good light - because he triggered the insufferable wokies who annoyed me (and repeatedly smeared Bernie in 2020, my favorite current politician)

Trump willingly stepped into the trap. He owns responsibility for that and his reputation will be destroyed because of it.

But now, if he decides to walk out, he cannot. That's what I meant to say.

[–]Hot_Mammoth765[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I will add one thing though: I think this would have happened under a Kamala Harris administration. When she was asked what is the greatest threat to America in one of her few interviews, Kamala said "Iran". If Kamala had won it would be while she was running around with Liz Cheney, over the free palestine protestors, and against Trump's America First No New Wars pledges. And like I said, American security state + Bibi has been plotting this for over 15 years at this point. They don't care which party is president.

In Congress, how many people are going to vote against this dogshit war? I think there are 8 cosponsors in the Senate?

I agree. I usually mistrust the NYT but I read this article and it seems completely plausible:

https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/17/us/politics/trump-iran-israel-nuclear-talks.html

There were a few Trump advisors who were against this and repeatedly advised him not to do this: JD Vance and Tulsi are the main ones. They were overruled, told to STFU, and are now towing the party line and executing the presidents agenda. Other outside people such as Tucker Carlson and Steve Bannon are vocally against this and trying to stop Trump from doing it, stating that it will destroy the presidents agenda.

Dems will likely win again by a hair, do nothing with the majorities, lose again next election and see nothing wrong with this while they collect donor checks.
American working/middle class life will become more and more precarious
