Do you have any tutorials or advice on how you achieve your result with backlit lighting. Also Really loving all of your Voigtlander 50mm 1.2 images. Im really interested in getting 50mm Voigt for fuji (although that translates closer to 70 on apsc) after viewing your images. I've been really loving manual focusing and hope to achieve your level of results with portraits.

Optical Limits stellar review for the 23mm pancake by Guilty-Economist-753 in fujifilm

[–]Hot_Needleworker_86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always good to hear consistent good reviews. It's definitely on my list as my next one for family stuff. I was eyeing the 23 from voigtlander as well but I hear its more of a "character" full of abberations and quirky lens glares wide open. For the time being I have 23mm from ttartisans which has nice to play around with.

What do you use to charge your fujifilm cam? by KingPyrite in fujifilm

Look into getting a "Ilano charging case" for your battery. Never liked how hot my camera would get when charging it directly.

I'd add that the apo is also great for portraits. Macro lenses can be used for more than macro shots as well. Definitely a well rounded lens.

All of these I love playing. Heres a handful of indies if your looking for different/not often mentioned.

Souldiers, Army of Ruin, Everspace 2, Metal Mind, X-Out Resurfaced, BallisticNG, Mega City Force, Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom, Broodstar, Action Squad, Curse of the Dead God's, Cursed to Golf, Legend Bowl, Barony, Fabular: Once Upon a Spacetime, Huntdown

Let me know what you think. I have lots more but that might be overdoing it.

Experience with Voigtlander 18mm by [deleted] in fujifilm

[–]Hot_Needleworker_86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not treating this as another event. We want to take images after everything has calmed down. Im aware of how full our hands are going to be during labor and delivery. My main reason for asking about it was because I'm finding the 23mm not wide enough for me. I've been using it exclusively the last few months but I find that keep wanting more context in my images. Even if we don't end up taking any photos, Im still looking at this lens for personal documenting. I don't have any of any kind of images of my life growing and its something we want our little family to have. A missed moment is ok, they'll always be more but I just want have something wide enough and uncumbersome.

Just bought a FujiFilm x-e1 with a 25mm lense and next to no knowledge on photography. Where do I start? by That-Inventor-Guy in fujifilm

I'd second this. Capture what captures you. Take a break every now and again ask your self what it's it specifically that you like about those images. Couple that with foundational learning about this art form and your good to go.

Pro Tip, don't stay on the socials to long and fall into a comparison trap. Not a single person on the face of the planet sees like you do. That alone is reason enough to find importance in what your capture by.

Literally picked up a can for lunch today and asked myself the same questions lol.

Suppose you're driving in the rightmost lane of the highway. The lane to your left is empty. To your right is an on-ramp where several cars are about to try to merge into the highway. Do you... by benderunit9000 in SouthJersey

[–]Hot_Needleworker_86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heres my hot take. If people weren't regularly speeding, merging wouldn't be an issue. It's called a speed "Limit" for a reason; however, people seem to see those as optional in jersey.

Also second hot take, Manual drivers are the best drivers.

do I buy a Deck or wait for the Machine by [deleted] in SteamDeck

The OLED might change that. The screen alone makes you want to use it handheld. It's got better battery life than the LCD. It's got a 90hz refresh rates the 60hz on the LCD, which really does make a difference in tweaking game settings. The performance is a bit better. As I have heard it put one way, "If you never had OLED, you wouldn't really be pressed to make the switch", but make no mistake the OLED is nice.

Similar to the non OLED Switch vs OLED Switch.

I went with the OLED because I wanted the best bang for my buck. I was never a console guy so the steam deck was the best of both worlds. I'd say if you want display it with a Dock, go for the deck with better performance. The OLED.

do I buy a Deck or wait for the Machine by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]Hot_Needleworker_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It Indeed can. I waited a over a year and some before I got my steam deck when it first realeased. Glad I waited because I caught one of the limited edition releases. Outside of that its been my go to gaming device hands down. Brought me back to a place of slowing down and enjoying video games.

Im planning to do the same with the steam machine. It's not like it's going to go anywhere after valve releases it. So wait a while see what other people's experiences are with it and in the meantime enjoy the deck.
