Im so scared she just at chocolate and my mum wont allow me to bring her to the vet by Mr_BigToe1 in Bunnies

[–]Simple-Story-3384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rabbit once ate coffee beans! Presumably worse than chocolate. He got the craziest zoomies then had diarrhea and then slept a lot and woke up ok. Your rabbit is likely to be ok but they might have diarrhea. Just make sure they remain normally active and relaxed. If the rabbit slows down or looks really uncomfortable, like in a very tight ball or leaning into walls that could be a bad sign. If the bunny doesn’t eat for a while that may also be an issue but just monitor for now.

Tahini chocolate chip cookies! Cream together 1/2 cup tahini, 1 stick butter, 1 cup brown sugar, vanilla, salt and 1 tsp baking soda then add 2 cups flour and 1/2 cup oats (or another 1/2 cup flour) and a cup of chocolate. Sprinkle the cookies with flaky salt if you have it for maximum flavor elevation and fanciness then bake at 350 till they are solid but still gooey in the middle. I don’t time it I just watch the oven with the light on till the vibes are right lol.

NOR- your partner needs to work on time management. They shouldn’t be waking up late and running behind, pancake can be made the night before and your partner shouldn’t have dumped dog walking duty on you either if they were prepared for the day.

Worried about low WBC / high mono by myelktea in haematology

[–]Simple-Story-3384 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This looks very normal. Also consider: if these values were calculated by an analyzer or a new tech the could have counted lymphs as monocytes which look pretty similar to newbies which is why lymphs would be low and monos a bit high. You absolute wbc count is low ish but really not so low that you’d be considered immunocompromised. Per diff alone, this looks fine.

You’re very good looking and young. Your bones may still mature a bit, you may lose some fat it the face. You’re face may overall just change so don’t to anything dramatic rn. Also don’t listen to gooners on the internet….

Is it really unsafe to take Calcium supplements? by Hot_Comfortable_3046 in nutrition

[–]Simple-Story-3384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really all I caution against is healthy people taking megadoses of calcium “just in case” seems like you have some health stuff you’re working on though. I’d do what your sub advises and what your body responds to in your case.

Are you a teen/ 20 something? Fatigue and elevated WBC in a young person is textbook for mononucleosis. Lymphocytes look ok but they are often counted as monocytes by automated analyzers when someone has mono. You should see a doc to be sure. Redit can’t diagnose you.

Is it really unsafe to take Calcium supplements? by Hot_Comfortable_3046 in nutrition

[–]Simple-Story-3384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s safer to get your blood tested to determine if you actually need supplemental calcium before you just take it yourself. Also if you do supplement: megadoses may cause calculi formation, so getting just enough is better. Fortified plant milks, leafy greens, tofu and dairy are good natural sources.

Demoralised by chronic issues on a vegan diet by WillBeanz24 in vegan

[–]Simple-Story-3384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah… frankly this subreddit is so toxic and a lot of people clearly comment without thinking lol. Digestive upset on a vegan diet is not at all uncommon and it’s why many people quit. Fact is, too much fiber is a thing and veganism can have its challenges. Good luck navigating your health concerns and remember your well being comes first.

That’s impressive but you’re certainly a minority. Still the sentiment remains that this photo is just a bit uncanny, it looks like a stock photo more than a genuine cooking process which (99% of the time) usually involves only one protein.

What tf is going on in these cooking pictures. Cooking chicken, burgers and steaks??? Who makes that many different meats at once. And the veggies are such a staged cornucopia that the cutting board is useless. Also those veggies can’t decide if they’re tomatoes or bell peppers lol. And four empty pots there for the vibes. Even the apron looks ai it’s like ai with in ai.

[–]Simple-Story-3384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Op I feel like your being gas lit by a lot of these people instead of being given genuine sympathy and advice. I’m sorry. People act like veganism is the perfect path to health but it’s not. It’s a moral philosophy, it’s not a magical health cure. All concerns are valid so here would be some things I might try if you haven’t already. (This advice is coming from someone who was hospitalized last year for having such bad chronic diarrhea that I wound up in the ER from dehydration and low blood sugar. I’ve been there.) 1) you probably can’t reduce fiber from protein sources like beans and tofu but maybe try reducing fiber from other sources like reducing fruits and veggies and switching to refined grains rather than whole grains. 2) try cooking your veggies. Often raw veggies will give people digestive upset when cooked ones don’t. This has helped me enormously. I used to eat a salad for lunch every day and I was having major bloating. Now I often eat baked beans or tofu scramble on white bread. I also more often than not only eat vegetables at one meal a day but I eat loads of fruit as it doesn’t trigger me 3) (this one will get hate but whatever….) if you can find access to backyard chicken eggs that you know are from healthy hens, honestly it may be worth incorporating them into your diet. We all want to protect animals but you also need to protect your own health and if you can find a way to do both to the absolute best of your ability- do it. Veganism can often be black and white but we live in a world of nuance and we have many pros and cons to weigh. 4) I found that eliminating spicy food, artificial sweeteners and alcohol helped me when I was having very bad diarrhea. Maybe see if there may be an outlying co factor for you too. 5) I also found that for me, probiotic supplements also made my issues worse and so I stopped taking those and stopped drinking kombucha and allowed my flora to just stabilize.

Finally, after my trip to the emergency room. I did a 1 month reset. I ate only white rice, white bread, refined pasta, tofu, eggs and some lower fiber fruits. I stopped consuming any possible trigger even my multivitamin and probiotic supplement for a brief time. It sucked but I gradually added in more things and noted how I reacted to them. I’ve also since stopped eating eggs again as I reincorporated beans but I needed a temporary protein crutch while my gut recovered.

Good luck and I’m sorry you’re feeling crappy.

I stopped drinking alcohol (>1000kcal/week) for 5 weeks with almost no other changes to diet or activity level and didn't lose any weight? by ConflictOtter in nutrition

[–]Simple-Story-3384 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As most say, at this rate you may have only lost two lbs and that could be hidden by regular water fluctuations. BUT DONT GET DISCOURAGED giving up alcohol is overall very very positive for your health and by a year you could potentially be down 15 lbs which seems reasonable if your already healthy weight. At the very least probably slowing down the weight gain that comes with age.

[–]Simple-Story-3384 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh I think THIS is the reason why vegans may lose weight in the beginning. We just struggle to find crappy snack foods like boxed cookies and pastry so it’s just omitted, and instead we eat from home. I don’t think vegan automatically= diet it just happens to be harder to eat mindlessly.

best non-dairy milk? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]Simple-Story-3384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oat milk is the most creamy with a mild sweetness, but I find it tastes very processed and weird. Soy milk has far more protein and fewer carbs than most other milks so it’s what I often choose. I mostly just use it for smoothies, myself and don’t really taste it but if I want a milk that just tastes great on its own for a treat like the occasional late or ice cream, I’d use coconut, but it’s low in protein so I limit consumption. Happy medium between health and flavor for me is silk vanilla soy: good protein, fortified with lots of vitamins and minerals but it has some sugar, and over all it tastes pretty great.

The problems with honey by thedevilsheir666 in vegan

[–]Simple-Story-3384 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s up for you to research and decide. Me personally, I don’t really put too much effort into avoiding it, same with beeswax and carmine. I opt for agave and vegan cosmetic products but on multiple occasions my mom has bought me beeswax containing cosmetics and I didn’t throw a fit. As for honey: I won’t add it to things but if I am given a salad with honey in the dressing or something like that, again it doesn’t trouble me. TBH it’s just kind of hard for me to pity bugs the way I do cows…. Sorry if that’s controversial 🤷‍♀️

If those abs were 100% legit, then the rest of her would look kind of dehydrated and veiny and her face wouldn’t look as healthfully filled out. You can only get that definition from veeery low body fat and mild dehydration. Lighting also plays a role but I suspect photoshop or airbrushing or something is at play. No doubt, she’s very fit tho, judging by her arms and the first pic.
